thank you Kristen and to everybody that came out today also my friends from South Boston are here with South Bend Chinatown but a lot of business people across the city I want to say thank you for placing your trust in me for supporting me I'm running for re-election the elections [Applause] I'm also fortunate to have a wonderful staff at the city council and most of them are here though [Applause] but what I what I wanted to say besides thanking you is letting you know that we still have a lot of major issues with dealing with and

challenges of facing our city working with Council of clarity and councilor Murphy and mayaville and others in government Senator Collins is here as well working closely with us at the state house but we're trying to get the economy back going again getting people back to the downtown area improving our schools but also making sure that we have enough police officers in Boston our police are doing a great job [Applause] but we have to ensure Public Safety we we need to continue to support our fire department they also do tremendous work

that our city employees they don't get the the credit or the recognition that they they deserve but they help keep our city moving moving forward so I want to say thank you to all the city employees that are here and that are retired as well and we just finished the city council hearing today one of the issues I focused on you probably have seated over the last 28 hours is pest control in Boston so it's a major quality life issue but it's those nuts and bolts City issues myself and Michael Flaherty and Eric

Murphy we focus on because we need to get the quality of life issues right you can also deal with the big issues but we also must deal with Neighborhood Services those that's the backbone of city government is getting that getting that working and again making sure that our business Community as well is supported our business Community pays High property taxes to the city of Boston and that money goes into out into the city to pay for our school teachers so while we're people that support our elderly for our police to keeping our

screens clean so we want to make sure that we have a vibrant and um aggressive downtown area and in business community that works for everybody the business Community definitely needs some support especially after the last three years of of the pandemic um the district I represent is South Boston the South Bend Chinatown almost all of the downtown area going into the Back Bay into Beacon Hill Bay Village as well the seafood or myself and Michael flower we call it the South Boston Waterfront thank you [Applause]
