BOSTON – Massachusetts Democratic Party Chair
Steve Kerrigan today announced the Party’s annual Roosevelt Dinner, held
Thursday night in Boston, reached a new fundraising record, bringing in
$380,000 to support the Democratic Party. The event honored Attorney General
Andrea Campbell and former Party Chair Gus Bickford. The family of
political activist Chris Condon also attended and received a posthumous
award on his behalf.
“I am thrilled that our event raised
nearly $400,000 to support the candidates and causes that represent the
very best values of the Democratic Party,” said Chair Kerrigan.
“With the Healey-Driscoll Administration in the corner office, there is a
new sense of excitement in our Party. These funds help position us well
to support candidates running for office this year and into the future.”
More than 300 people attended the event
held Thursday at the Fairmont Copley Plaza in Boston. Special guests
included Governor Maura Healey, Lieutenant Governor Kim Driscoll, Auditor
Diana DiZoglio, Boston Mayor Michelle Wu, and Congresswoman Ayanna Pressley.
