                (Boston Orange) 吳弭競選陣營今(1)日一早6點半發佈喜訊，聯邦眾議員Ayanna Pressley支持吳弭當波士頓市長，稱她為為波士頓社區爭取公平、正義的夥伴。

              在Ayanna Pressley，波士頓代市長Kim Janey等人支持下，初選過後被坊間形容為影響選情重要票源的黑人社區選票，估計大半將流向吳弭。

Congresswoman Ayanna Pressley Endorses Michelle Wu for Mayor of Boston 

 

Boston, October 1 - Congresswoman Ayanna Pressley today announced her endorsement of current City Councilor At-Large Michelle Wu for Mayor of Boston, citing her experience and bold vision for the city.  

“I’ve worked closely with Michelle Wu for nearly a decade. Michelle has a passion for service and a vision for our city that is grounded in her own lived experience and belief in the transformative potential of policy. At this pivotal moment in our city’s history, we need bold leadership - that’s why I’m so proud to endorse Michelle’s candidacy for Mayor. I look forward to continuing to work alongside her to tackle the entrenched challenges of racial, social, economic, healthcare, and environmental injustice facing our communities.”

Earlier this year, Councilor Wu received the Pressley Policy Pledge distinction, reflective of her commitment to a range of key policies, including reform of our criminal legal system, student debt cancellation, fare-free public transit, and more. The endorsement comes after Congresswoman Pressley weighed in on the campaign for Boston City Council last week, backing current City Councilor At-Large Julia Mejia, David Halbert, Ruthzee Louijeune, and Carla Monteiro for City Council At-Large and Kendra Hicks for Boston City Council District 6.

Boston’s Municipal Election will be held on Tuesday, November 2. The last day for voters to register in order to participate in the election is Wednesday, October 13. To check their status and find their polling location, voters can visit the Secretary of State’s website here.

Boston, MA— Representative Ayanna Pressley (MA-07) announced her endorsement of Michelle Wu for Mayor of Boston today, calling her a partner in the fight for equity and justice for Boston communities. In 2009, Representative Pressley became the first ever woman of color elected to the Boston City Council. In 2012, Michelle Wu joined her as the second.

Ayanna Pressley is an advocate, a policy-maker, an activist, and a survivor. On November 6, 2018, Ayanna was elected to represent Massachusetts’ 7th Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives, making her the first woman of color to be elected to Congress from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Ayanna believes that the people closest to the pain should be closest to the power, and that a diversity of voices in the political process is essential to crafting more effective public policy.

Born in Cincinnati and raised in Chicago, Ayanna is the only child of a single mother and a father who was in and out of the criminal legal system. Ayanna’s mother, Sandra Pressley, was a tenants’ rights organizer who instilled in her the value of civic engagement. Thanks in large part to her mother’s dedication to activism, Ayanna has always been acutely aware of the role that government can play in lifting up families and communities.
