(Boston Orange編譯) 一名米爾福德(Milford)高中學生今（6月1）日早上在回學校練排球的路上，被聯邦政府移民局(ICE)探員拘留，關押。ICE未透露原因，學生家人及朋友認為可能因為這名高中生不是在美國出生。麻州州長奚莉(Maura Healey)為此震怒，要求ICE說明抓人原因，以及關押地點。
奚莉州長還批評ICE事前沒有通知麻州警察及政府官員，流程不符規定，聲言這名學生的合法權益應受保障，指責川普政府在社區製造恐懼，讓每個人都覺得不安全。
米爾福德學區總監Kevin McIntyre透露，學區內還有家長被ICE拘捕，學區將全力支持這些學生和家長。
這名學生的朋友說，今天被ICE抓走的人是馬伽洛（Ｍarcello），現年18歲，從6歲起就住在米爾福德，但不是在美國出生。
馬伽落的女友Julianys Rentas說，馬伽洛現在被關在一個有30名男子的牢房。馬伽洛不僅是其中最年輕的一個，而且不是罪犯。包括Ana Julia Araujo在內的馬伽洛親人表示，僅僅只是因為馬伽洛不在美國出生，就要讓他與家人分開，是不對的。
米爾福德警察局局長Rob Tunsio證實，該局事前完全不知情，他們還是從學區那兒才知道這消息。
米爾福德高中即將在6月2日舉行畢業典禮，地方民眾已發起要在這天和平抗議。
Governor Healey Demands Information about ICE Arrest of Milford High School Student
BOSTON – Governor Maura Healey issued the following statement in response to reports of a Milford High School student being arrested by ICE on his way to volleyball practice on Saturday:
“I’m disturbed and outraged by reports that a Milford High School student was arrested by ICE on his way to volleyball practice yesterday. Yet again, local officials and law enforcement have been left in the dark with no heads up and no answers to their questions. I’m demanding that ICE provide immediate information about why he was arrested, where he is and how his due process is being protected. My heart goes out to the Milford community on what was supposed to be a celebratory graduation day. The Trump Administration continues to create fear in our communities, and it’s making us all less safe.”
