ILF Civic Fellowship Accepting Asian Pacific American Studen t Applications for 2020
The International Leadership F oundation (ILF) is pleased to announce that the application process for the 2020 Civic Fel lowship Program is open and on going until December 31,2020. Every year, ILF’s selection co mmittee identifies approximate ly 30 outstanding Asian Pacifi c American (APA) college stude nts to spend 8 to 10 weeks interning at a federa lagency or an office at Congressional members in Washington D.C. dur ing the summer.
Students accepted into the pro gram are known as Civic Fellow s and will receive a stipend o f $2,000 USD upon program comp letion. In addition to their full-time federal internships,they will attend w eekly professional development workshops and leadership training. Fellows are responsi ble for their own travel, hous ing, and living expenses.
“One of ILF’s goals is to prep are and advocate for the next generation of leaders in publi c service”, said Chairman of ILF Dr. Paul Hsu. “It is so important to increase exposure andunders tanding of civic engagement so that young leade rs can take action to support their communities in relevant ways”.
Based on the interests and maj ors of selected Civic Fellowsh ip candidates, ILF will help place them with federal a gencies, congressional offices, or the White House.
Undergraduate students of APA heritage are encouraged to apply. Requirements include United States citizens, minimum 3.0 GPA, and current undergraduate sophomores, juniors, or seniors.
