Civil and Human Rights Coalition Applauds Confirmation of Jenny Yang to the EEOC
WASHINGTON, DC – Wade Henderson, president and CEO of The Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights, issued the following statement on the Senate’s confirmation of Jenny Yang to the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC):
“Throughout her career, Jenny Yang has shown dedication to using the law to ensure equal opportunity in employment for all Americans. Her work at the Department of Justice, as a federal judicial law clerk, in private practice, and at the National Employment Law Project make an EEOC appointment a natural fit for her abilities.
Yang’s dedication to civil rights and employment law is reinforced by her commitment to organizations that have helped define the landscape of equal opportunity, such as the Asian Pacific American Legal Resource Center, National Asian Pacific American Women’s Forum, and the National Employment Lawyers Association.
We applaud President Obama for nominating her, and  the Senate  for confirming her to this important position. We are confident t in Yang’s ability to serve our nation well through  thoughtful and deliberate enforcement of employment discrimination protections and equal employment opportunity programs.”
