第126屆波士頓馬拉松估計3萬人參加 Boston Pride將領隊

                            (Boston Orange) 波士頓體育會 (BAA)宣佈，第126屆波士頓馬拉松賽將於4月18日舉行，並邀請「波士頓驕傲 (Boston Pride)」的隊長Jillian Dempsey，Mary Parker出任今年的儀式大統帥。

            他們將引領大約3萬名參加比賽的跑者，從起跑線跑到終點。

「波士頓驕傲」做為全國女子冰棍球聯盟的一部分，在Jillian Dempsey，Mary Parker兩人率領下，連續二年贏得Isobel盃冠軍。他們兩人將由一輛全新的2022年本田5人座箱型客車載送到波約斯頓街和「波士頓驕傲」的隊友會合。

今年的波士頓馬拉松賽還將有2架C-130，在早上9點58分十，從Bradley國家空軍衛隊基地起飛，從霍普金頓的起跑線起飛，預定大約10點03分抵達波約斯頓街的終點線。

                         1972年以第6名成績跑完全程的Valerie Rogosheske，非洲裔美人偶像跑者Marilyn Bevans，1968年冠軍Amby Burfoot，以及波士頓馬拉松賽主任Dave McGillivray將夾雜在霍普金頓的榮譽起跑者行列中。

                          當天的比賽將由男子輪椅組及女子輪椅組從9點02及05分起開跑，手環及雙人組，專業男子組，專業女子組，殘障運動員組，以及公開賽的第一至第四批跑者，接著陸續出發，最晚一波出發的時間預定為11點15分。

                       波士頓馬松賽的粉絲節將由亞馬遜公司在柯普利廣場公園擺出攤位，讓跑者及親友休息，4月15日中午12點至晚上8點，以及4月16日的早上10點至8點，4月17日的早上10點至下午4點，向公眾開放。

B.A.A. Announces Grand Marshals, Official Starters & Race Week Festivities Surrounding 126^th Boston Marathon

 BOSTON—In anticipation of the 126^th Boston Marathon on Monday, April 18, the Boston Athletic Association (B.A.A.) today announced the Grand Marshal, Official Starters, and festivities in celebration of the world’s oldest annually run marathon.

 Boston Pride To Serve As Ceremonial Grand Marshals

Boston Pride team captains Jillian Dempsey (Winthrop, MA) and Mary Parker (Milton, MA) will serve as honorary Grand Marshals for the 126^th Boston Marathon, leading 30,000 participants from start to finish. Dempsey and Parker helped the Boston Pride claim their second straight Isobel Cup Championship as part of the National Women’s Hockey League.

 Dempsey and Parker will be driven to the finish in the all-new 2022 Honda Passport 5-passenger SUV, where they will join the rest of their Pride teammates on Boylston Street.

 The Boston Marathon will also feature a flyover of two C-130s out of the Bradley Air National Guard Base. The aircrafts will fly over the course beginning with the Hopkinton start line at approximately 9:58 a.m. ET and finishing over the Boylston Street finish line at approximately 10:03 a.m. ET.

Boston Marathon Fan Fest presented by Amazon in Copley Square Park will be the place to soak in the race week atmosphere, enjoy live entertainment, and listen to star-studded panels featuring champions, Olympic medalists, running icons and more. Fan Fest is free and open to the public, and features programming on Friday, April 15 (12:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m.); Saturday, April 16 (10:00 a.m.-8:00 p.m.); and Sunday, April 17 (10:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m.).

 All-New Sam Adams Run Pub to Debut on Dartmouth Street

New for 2022, participants and their families are encouraged to relax and unwind at the Sam Adams Run Pub just steps from the Boston Marathon finish line. Located at the corner of Dartmouth Street and Boylston Street near Copley Square Park, the Boston Marathon Run Pub will be a marathon-themed beer hall featuring Samuel Adams 26.2 Brew. The Run Pub will be open on Friday, April 15 from 3:00 p.m.-9:00 p.m. and Saturday, April 16 from 11:00 a.m.-9:00 p.m.

Dave McGillivray To Complete 50^th Consecutive Boston Marathon

After directing the 126^th Boston Marathon, race director Dave McGillivray will head to Hopkinton to run his 50^th consecutive Boston Marathon. On Patriots’ Day, McGillivray will complete the Hopkinton to Boston route in the late afternoon and evening.

麻省理工學院奈米大樓 5月將改名為蘇姿丰大樓

             (Boston Orange 編譯) 麻省理工學院最新的第12號大樓，奈米大樓，即將於5月14日正式更名為Lisa T. Su (蘇姿丰)大樓。這是麻省理工學院第一次以女校友的名字命名大樓。

             這將是麻省理工學院第二座以華裔校友命名的大樓。2015年時，麻省理工學院經濟系總部所在的E-52號大樓，改以台積電創辦人張宗謀 (Morris)與其妻張淑芬(Sophia)的姓名命名。

             超微半導體 (AMD)執行長暨董事會主席蘇姿丰，從1990年本科，1991年碩士到1994年的電機工程博士學位，都是在麻省理工學院拿的。她是麻省理工學院以女校友姓名為大樓命名的第一人。

              蘇姿丰獲有許多榮譽，其中2項是頒給行業先驅，包括全球半導體協會的張宗謀博士範例領袖獎，以及電子和電子工程學院頒發的最高榮譽獎，Robert N. Noyce獎。蘇姿丰是獲得Noyce獎的第一位女性。

           她說，”MIT 在我的生命中有非常重要的份量”，”我非常榮幸，也很高興能對下一代的學生及研究人員有影響”。”沒有甚麼可以取代親手實作的學習，我希望MIT.nano將來能促成並啟發最好，最閃亮的科技及創新”。

 “超微”半導體創立50年以來，蘇姿丰於2021年帶領該公司的表現最為亮麗，帶給市場多個前沿科技。加入”超微”之前，她曾在Freescale半導體公司，IBM及德州儀器公司等出任過許多不同職位。

             麻省理工學院校長L. Rafael Reif表示，” 奈米科學及奈米科技是麻省理工學院，也是未來發明工作的核心。蘇姿丰改革轉變了” 超微”，是位知名，受人喜愛，尊重的有遠見領導者，她將使得MIT.nano擴大研究界線，在奈米規模創新。現在是蘇姿丰大樓的MIT.nano社區內的研究員們，都致力為最具緊急挑戰性的議題，發明新的，有科學基礎的解決方案。

             蘇姿丰大樓位於MIT校園中心，就在大圓頂旁邊，原本是建為奈米規模科學及工程的開放存取設施。這棟大樓於2018年啟用開放，以其容許人無障礙地看到裡面實驗室的昂貴玻璃外牆著稱，旨在視覺上把研究員漢大樓外的世界連結起來。大樓的設計是要讓共享的實驗設施更生機蓬勃，吸引該校30多個研究系所，實驗室及中心，以及外來的業界，學術界或其他組織的使用者融合一處。

             MIT.nano的創辦主任，Fariborz Maseeh新興科技教授Vladimir Bulović表示，蘇姿丰在MIT的傳奇，從她畢業以後就開始了，在她畢業以後的許多年，她在研讀博士期間發展出來的技術配方，到現在都還背心學生研究員用作奈米加工的共享工具組建。用她的名字來命名MIT.nano大樓，實在非常棒。

             麻省理工學院有多所大樓以校友名字命名，包括32號大樓以1957年畢業，1958年再取得史隆管理學院碩士學位的亞德諾半導體公司(Analog Devices)創辦人Ray Stata，以及其妻Maria的名字命名。經濟系總部所在，有歷史性的E-52大樓，於2015年以台積電創辦董事會主席，分別在1952，1953，以及1955取得學士，碩士，以及工程碩士學位的張宗謀，以及其妻子Sophia的名字命名，54號大樓則是以德州儀器公司 (Texas Instruments)共同創辦人Cecil Green和她的妻子Ida的名字命名。(更新版)

昆士市 4/23 慶祝春天來了

 “Spring Has Sprung” Music, Dance & Laser Show April 23rd 

(Boston Orange) 昆士市長柯奇 (Tom P. Koch)邀請市民於4月23日(週六)下午4點到6點45分，到漢考克亞當廣場 (Hancock Adams Common) 參加”春天來了 (Spring Has Sprung)”的慶祝活動，有音樂，跳舞，以及雷射秀。

地方人士將表演舞蹈，音樂及功夫，還有舞獅。

排定的節目包括Velocity舞蹈公司，洪家功夫及舞獅團，DanceWorks。傍晚7點15分還將有Pinnace製作公司的雷射秀。

麻州驚傳華裔生技公司董事長槍殺23歲姪子

          (Boston Orange 編譯) 今 (8) 日在尚莫維爾 (Somerville)地方法院傳出一華人槍殺其23歲姪子案件，聞者無不震驚。

大波士頓地區生物科技圈獲悉行兇者為萬康基因科技公司董事長薛成海 (Chenghai Xue)時，更是大吃一驚。

根據波士頓環球報報導，現年44歲的薛成海，週四下午大約4點50分時，在Medford法庭外的停車場，先是駕駛他的雪佛蘭春分 ( Chevy Equinox)廂型車 (SUV)直衝向他姪子王聰 (譯音，Cong Wang) 的黑色豐田Rav4車，把王聰夾在兩輛車中間後，走下車，在近距離下連開至少5、6槍，射擊其頭部。

案件現場散落有10發子彈殼。

米斗塞郡(Middlesex county)助理地方檢察官Ceara Mahoney週五在Medofod警察局做簡報時表示，Medford警察在週四下午的4點50分左右，接獲位於Medford神祕谷公園路(Mystic Valley Parkway)的劍橋地方法庭外，發生槍擊案的警報。

事發前不久，薛成海才和他的姪子對簿公堂。法官拒絕了薛成海的延長禁制令要求。法庭文件顯示，王聰和薛成海的前妻早前有愛戀關係。

警察趕到現場時，看到受害者身旁有一把槍，地上有彈殼。七，八尺外，薛成海手腳外伸，腹部著地的躺在地上。早前在法庭中代表薛成海的律師，蹲在薛成海身旁。

警方搜索後，在薛成海身上沒發現任何槍傷，但看到薛成海的手上和頭髮上有血。

Mahoney表示有目擊證人看到白色SUV撞黑色SUV，然後看到在2輛車中間夾著一名亞裔男子。另一名男子從白色SUV下來，拿著一把黑色手槍指著第一名亞裔男子，連開了5、6槍。

法庭文件顯示，在薛成海向法庭申請對王聰的禁制令的文件中，包括一份薛的前妻於2020年8月遞交的阿靈頓警察報告。

該份報告指出，薛的前妻告訴警察，在薛暫時住在中國期間，他和王聰開始了羅曼蒂克關係，並一直持續到2020年7月，那是薛和她離婚的原因。後來她在2020年8月遞交報告時，已回去和薛住在一起。

她聲稱已告訴王聰許多次，他們犯了大錯，必須終止關係。但王聰不接受分手，多次也簡訊威脅她，如果中止關係，就要中止她的生命或她和她先生的生命。

她還告訴警察，王聰相信由於他目前還持用學生簽證，他們必須結婚，好讓他拿到綠卡，留在美國。她很擔心王聰的精神健康，並相信王聰可能得了精神病。她說即使在她要王聰停止後，王聰還出現在她家，以及教堂。

法庭文件還包括了王聰在2020年8月發給薛的前妻，充滿不善語氣簡訊的英文翻譯。在這些簡訊中，王聰寫道，”我會殺你的家人，如果我不殺你的家人，我會自殺”。據說他的還寫著”我現在已沒有尊嚴”，”我是行屍走肉”，抱怨著他的”未來被你毀了”。

法庭文件顯示，薛和他的前妻2006年在中國結婚，育有2名子女，2019年離婚時住在阿靈頓。

在薛申請禁制令的文件中，薛提及他曾經是哈佛大學的博士後，做癌症診斷的病人數據分析。哈佛大學週五證實了薛在2010年12月1日至2011年6月30日間，在該校任職。

在薛的領英網頁上，薛稱自己那時候是在哈佛統計系做博士後。2019年的離婚文件顯示，薛那時是3家初創公司的股東，包括設於美國的”我的健康基因 (My Health Gene Inc.)，XELLENT Health Inc., ，以及總部在中國的萬康源基因科技公司(Wankangyuan Gene Technology Co., Inc.)。

根據麻州州務卿辦公室文件，薛成海去年10月在麻州登記了一家名為XELLENT BIO的公司，他自己是這家企業諮詢服務公司的董事長。更早之前2個月，他還在麻州登記了一家名叫DDMED諮詢的公司。

As the first Black woman and first public defender to serve in this role, Justice Jackson embodies the values of democracy and equality that we hold most dear in America. When Justice Jackson takes her seat, the Court will, for the very first time, have four women and three people of color serving on the bench. Dearborn STEM學校84畢業生今秋可直升法蘭克林科技學院

             (Boston Orange 周菊子波士頓報導) 所有學生畢業後可直升社區學院，學費由學校想辦法。法蘭克林技術學院 (Benjamin Franklin Cummings Institute of Technology，簡稱BFIT) 和Dearborn STEM學校今 (8) 日邀波士頓市長吳弭 (Michelle Wu) 出席，聯袂宣佈這了這一特殊協議。

             Dearborn STEM學校校長Darlene Marcano很興奮的表示，該校和BFIT關係一直很好，但上個月他們才敲定，有將近600名學生的該校，今年畢業班的84名學生，只要取得畢業資格，都可以直升BFIT就讀，一學期約8475元的證書項目或副學士學位學費，將由學生藉免費申請的聯邦學生補助支付。麻州黑人經濟協會，波士頓為優異計畫 (Boston Plan for Excellence) ，以及其他慈善機構已贊助15萬元，將用於支付其他不足費用。

             本身是波士頓拉丁學校畢業生，在教育界已工作20餘年，3年前才接任Dearborn STEM學校校長的Darlene Marcano笑說，這是前所有未過的做法，他們全校師生都很興奮。

             Dearborn STEM學校校長Darlene Marcano指出，該校今年預定有84名學生畢業，和BFIT這一協議的另一特別處是凡是申請入讀BFIT的學生，還可以讓一名19歲以上家人獲得BFIT入學許可。

           創立於1908年的法蘭克林技術學院 (Benjamin Franklin Cummings Institute of Technology) ，是一所二年制社區學院，提供清潔及綠色科技課程，包括冷暖器維修，風能科技、汽車，以及電機工程等。BFIT校長Aisha Francise表示，有鑑於越來越多高中生有能力及意願，學習可讓他們做好就職準備的課程，該校決定主動出擊，為Dearborn STEM學校學生，提供機會。

             今日在宣佈儀式中，BFIT校長Aisha Francis表示，申請入讀大專院校的手續越來越繁瑣，打破這些障礙，才能給年輕人更多上進機會。
