CATHAY PACIFIC APPOINTS MARIUS CARSTENSEN AS DISTRICT SALES MANAGER, NEW ENGLAND
Airline Veteran to Join Hong Kong-based carrier and Oversee Sales in New England

Boston, MA (February X, 2015) - Cathay Pacific Airways, named “World’s Best Airline” in the 2014 annual Skytrax World Airline Awards™, has appointed Marius Carstensen to District Sales Manager, New England.  Carstensen will be responsible for developing, planning and managing implementation of sales coverage and market strategies in the greater Boston area, where a direct route to Hong Kong is scheduled to launch on May 3, 2015, at 1:30am.

Carstensen is a 25-year veteran of the airline industry, where he has held several senior sales and leadership positions.  Prior to joining Cathay Pacific, Carstensen worked with Lufthansa German Airlines in the Boston office.  He first joined Lufthansa German Airlines as a Customer Service Agent in 1986, and then transferred to the sales department where he later held various management positions; most recently as District Sales Manager since 2002.

He will be immediately tasked with raising the awareness of the Cathay Pacific award winning products and services in this important new market for us. He will also ensure the exciting new travel opportunities that we have now opened to Hong Kong and Asia, for both Boston and New England residents, will be fully realised.”

A native of Germany, Carstensen moved to Boston in 1983, where he has acquired strong ties with a number of associations, including Boston Airlines Sales Representatives Association, New England Business Travel Association, and New England Airlines Sales Manager Association.

CATHAY PACIFIC APPOINTS FAWWAD TOOR AS AIRPORT STATION MANAGER, BOSTON
Airline Veteran to Oversee Flight and Ground Operations in Boston

Boston, MA (February X, 2015) - Cathay Pacific Airways, named “World’s Best Airline” in the 2014 annual Skytrax World Airline Awards™, has appointed Fawwad Toor to airport station manager, Boston.  Toor will be responsible for liaising with local airport authorities and overseeing the ground operations at Boston Logan International Airport, where a direct route to Hong Kong is scheduled to launch on May 3, 2015, at 1:30am.  This is a promotion for Toor, who has been with Cathay Pacific since April 2012 in the role of Manager on Duty in New York, at the JFK International Airport.

Toor is a 15-year veteran of the airline industry, where he has held several on-site positions.  Prior to joining Cathay Pacific, Toor worked at the JFK International Airport with Swissport USA, Emirates and most recently, Jet Airways.

He also brings to our Boston ground product offering a strong operational and safety background and will ensure that the award winning Cathay Pacific experience will start from the moment our guests enter the Cathay Pacific airport environment.”


Toor holds a Bachelor degree in Business Administration in Aviation Management. He was previously awarded with Certificate of Appreciation by Regional Vice President – North America of Jet Airways for exemplary customer service and call beyond duty.
Cathay Pacific will be the first to link New England and Hong Kong directly, offering the non-stop service from Boston Logan International Airport four times a week, cutting down the travel time from Boston to Hong Kong by over four hours.

The Boston service will be operated by Boeing 777-300ER aircraft featuring Cathay Pacific’s renowned cabin products, including the newly-refreshed First Class; awarding-winning Business Class; the newest cabin class, Premium Economy; and the new long-haul Economy Class.

Together with the exceptional service provided by Cathay Pacific’s award-winning cabin crew and a state-of-the-art in-flight entertainment system in all classes, passengers will be provided with the best possible travel experience when they fly between Boston and Hong Kong.
