30 October 2014
Dear Colleagues,
Asian-Americans have been enrolling and teaching at Suffolk for decades. We have a program that will highlight the experiences of some of these people, titled Asian-Americans at Suffolk.
Frederick Hom Dow will talk about being Asian-American today and also tell us about his father, Harry M. Dow who graduated from Suffolk in 1929 and became the first Chinese-American admitted to the Massachusetts Bar.
Allan Tow taught at the law school and now offers courses through the Government Department.
Jessica Sedgwick from the Moakley Archive will tell us about the records we hold concerning these Asian-Americans.
Yours truly, Ronald Suleski, will act as Moderator.
Monday, 3 November 2014, from 2:30pm to3:34pm at the Poetry Center (third floor of the Sawyer Library at 73 Tremont Street, Boston). The meeting is Open to the Public. Refreshments will be Provided.
The program is sponsored by the Asian Studies Program, the Moakley Archives and Institute at Suffolk, the President’s Committee on Diversity, and the Rosenberg Institute.
