波士頓華埠牌樓電影節登場 居民圍看"我的中國生活"

                    (Boston Orange 周菊子波士頓報導)亞美社區發展協會(ACDC)每年一度的華埠牌樓電影節，8月25日晚由五少文執導的"我的中國生活"揭開序幕。今晚(26)，明晚(27)，將放映國際巨星甄子丹主演的”葉問3”，”新流星蝴蝶劍”，藉以標榜波士頓本土華裔電影人的成就。

               ACDC今年的華埠牌樓電影節只選映3部片，全都是波士頓本地人作品。

               伍少文是在波士頓出生，長大，後來到紐約，加州發展，最近回到波士頓的紀錄片導演，製作人。”我的中國生活”以他父親伍經堯為主角，從憶述當年種種，到跟拍如今生活，回台山老家上墳祭祖，赴香港探親會友等經歷，展現了許多移民都有的類似感概與心情。

               25日晚，在電影放映前，伍少文出席致詞。他說在這麼多影片中，他的這部片得以被選中在波士頓華埠放映，對他來說意義很特別，因為他在波士頓出生，上過昆士小學，拉丁學校，”我的中國生活”一片，也是從波士頓華埠開頭的。

               他爸爸當年說了許多次，1966年時為了得到自由，是怎麼樣的走了7天6夜，再游泳4小時，才離開中國，去到香港。

他在波士頓長大時，一直很為自己的身分，為自己的是中國人感到羞愧，但拍這部片，讓他宛如重生。以前他從來沒想過，是他父親費了多大勁努力，他才有機會接受良好教育，才有可能實現自我夢想。這讓他學到絕不要忘記自己是從哪兒來，更不要忘記是前人的努力，才可能有今日的自己。

伍少文因此非常高興有這機會，讓波士頓華埠居民藉由他的影片，聚在一起，分享彼此的故事，建立感情，互相支持。

               亞美社區發展協會的青少年中心，配合影片，當晚還製作了一個社區人物介紹展，在放映會場邊豎起一塊紙板，邀請民眾就”對你來說，中國表示什麼”這問題，留言表達自己的看法。

波士頓華埠牌樓電影節 放映甄子丹電影

            (Boston Orange 周菊子整理報導)亞美社區發展協會(ACDC)每年一度的波士頓華埠牌樓電影節，將從今(25)晚起，在華埠公園(Gate70 Beach StreetBoston, MA, 02111)前一連3日，放映3部電影。

                 亞美社區發展協會的牌樓電影節，今晚5點半開幕，現場將有遊戲，美食等適合一家老少同樂的活動，7點15分由華林派現場表演功夫，7點半開幕式，8點開始放映電影”我的中國生活(My Life in China)”。電影導演伍少文(Ken Ng)將親自出席做介紹。

                   這部紀錄片描述導演本人的父親，1966年中國發生文化大革命，逃來美國，艱苦謀生，定居異域多年後，返鄉探望的生活經歷。

                  這部影片DVD版本長81分鐘，售價19元，包括64分鐘教育內容，供中小學做教材用的教育版，299元，查詢影片詳情可上網https://mylifeinchina.org/。

                  8月26日(週六)晚，7點15分由道徒門(Daoist Gate)示範武當功夫，8點起放映影片”葉問3”。

                   道徒門是由2009年移民來美的武當派弟子周玄雲創辦的功夫組織，在大波士頓少林派林立的大環境中，在中國與少林同名的武當派出現，頗為罕見。

              “葉問3"是2015年的香港電影，由葉偉信執導，甄子丹，張晉，熊黛林，譚耀文主演，故事銜接2010年上映的”葉問2”。維基百科上關於此片的票房紀錄為截至2016年3月8日，全球總票房為7918萬美元，在Box Mojo上的全球票房總數為$156,844,753。

               8月27日(週日)晚，7點15分由麥寶嬋武藝協會示範功夫，8點起放映1992年出品的電影”新流星蝴蝶劍(Butterfly and Sword)”。該片由麥當杰執導，梁朝偉，楊紫瓊，甄子丹，王祖賢等人主演的古裝動作片。電影巨星甄子丹的父親甄雲龍將出席講話。

華美福利會下一步英語主任高柏格今日卸任

As many of you may already know, today is my "last day" at AACA. 

My colleague, Shinobu Ando, takes over as Director of our Next Steps Transitional English Program.

I'll be back on a consulting basis through December (no set schedule yet) to help write the DESE grant proposal, so it's possible that our paths may cross sooner than later.  I can hardly walk through this neighborhood without seeing someone I know.

I deeply appreciate all of the support and collaboration you have shown me, in some cases for 20 years or more, and I wish you all the best for good health, happiness and continued success.

幸運女士個人獨得七億餘元威力球獎金

            (Boston Orange 周菊子波士頓整理報導)七億五千八把七十萬元。這麻州彩票威力球(Powerball)有史以來由單人獨得的最大額頭獎(jackpot)，真正得主是53歲的Chicopee居民，Mavis Wanczyk。

             有兩個小孩，在春田市憐憫醫療中心(Mercy Medical Center)工作的Mavis Wanczyk，在麻州彩票局宣佈得獎號碼時，正要下班離開。她的朋友唸完得獎彩票的6個號碼時，她拿著彩票一個數目，一個數目地看，對完後喊”我有這些號碼，我有這些號碼”，高興得癱坐下來。幾秒後才意識到，她現在是億萬富翁了。

               她後來打電話給她以工作了32年的醫療中心，”我不會回來了”。

            Mavis Wanczyk每周五晚上和母親，繼父，以及一名朋友一起吃飯，玩Keno。她的幸運號碼是4。

               她不想分30年領取獎金，決定一次領取$480,500,936，扣稅後也有$336,350,655。

            麻州彩票局在凌晨2點最初宣佈這威力球最大獎得主時，搞錯了彩票出售地點，讓水城(Watertown)的Handy Variety小舖東主Gurinder Singh高興極了，不過凌晨6點，彩票局馬上更正，中獎彩票是在往西80哩的Chicopee賣出去的。

                這家店賣出了一張中獎100萬元的彩票，麻州彩票局在宣佈得獎號碼時，一時搞錯了出售地點。

              麻州彩票局主任Michael Seeeney解釋，該局收到有兩張彩票中獎100萬元的通知，在印出，整理資訊時，一不小心搞錯了。售出中大獎彩票的店舖是Pride Station & Store，該店東主Bob Bolduc表示，因為售出中獎彩票可得的5萬元佣金，將全數捐給當地慈善機構。

           麻州出售的彩票中，這一期總共有261,642張彩票中了獎。小獎從4元到100萬元不等。

           麻州彩票的最大獎，是2016年時3個人一起得的16億元。

海外13社團向國際請願 呼籲重視香港人民處境

美加英澳13個社團組織8月23日聯名請願，呼籲國際各界重視香港人民政治，民權被侵犯，要求立即釋放所有良心犯，終止政治起訴支持民主，捍衛人權的活躍人士。

聯名社團指稱，在香港至少已有117人因為雨傘運動，蠔涌炸彈，旺角初一衝突，立會非法集結，反釋法遊行等等諸多案件被捕，被判刑，或正審判中。

International Petition Campaign calls for solidarity to address rights violations in Hong Kong

An International petition campaign to call for international solidarity to address civil and political rights violations in Hong Kong is being launched today by thirteen community organizations from USA, Canada, UK and Australia namely:

2.     To show international solidarity with Hong Kong to address the continuous decline of civil and political rights in Hong Kong which is a violation of the provisions on freedom of expression and peaceful assembly in the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights (ICCPR) of which China is a signatory. 

3.     To demand immediate and unconditional release of all prisoners of conscience and an end to the political prosecution of pro-democracy activists and civil rights defenders. 

The above thirteen community organizations will solicit support from prominent individuals and organizations outside of Hong Kong that have influence in their own fields, countries or in the international community. Signatories of the campaign will be by invitation only and include: 

1. Current or former members of government, 

2. International NGOs, 

3. Scholars, and 

4. Community leaders. 

                                        

As members of the international community, we encourage the general public to follow Story of the Frontiers on Facebook for latest updates on Hong Kong political prisoners and the free-the-prisoners campaign in Hong Kong. We also encourage the general public to write to all prisoners of conscience in Hong Kong particularly those who are less renowned to let them know that they have not been forgotten. 波市府解雇健康及人民服務長小阿若約

(Boston Oange)  波士頓環球報報導，經過4星期有關性騷擾女性下屬的詢問、調查後，波士頓市政府宣佈，小阿若約(Felix G. Arroyo)的人民服務健康長職務，立即終止。

               波市長傳播長Laura Oggeri表示，波市府做了詳盡的內部調查，才做此決定，將立刻展開尋覓新人補位工作。

現年38歲的小阿若約，原本是工會組織者，市議員助理，然後做了兩任市議員，2013年參選波士頓市長，和現任市長馬丁華殊(Martin Walsh)競爭，還在初選時贏得9%選票，儼然政壇新星。

               他的一名女性下屬上週向麻州反歧視委員會(Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination)申訴，指他從2015年開始就不斷性騷擾她，常拍打她的臀部，還在知道她要去市府有關當局提告時，從背後緊抓她的頸部。小阿若約事後透過發言人否認這些指控。市府當局後來把她調到另一個部門，讓她覺得自己被降職了。

               這名女子的指控引發市府正式調查，從7月28日起就勒令小阿若約放有薪假。這星期，連警察也介入調查了。

波市長週四(24日)表示，市府也請從外界請人加入調查。小阿若約案在市府並不是泛泛可見的問題。他不認為市府員工會害怕舉報諸如性騷擾等地任何不當問題。他也表示市府對性騷擾訂有嚴格政策規定，所有部門主管及內閣閣員最近都接受過行為準則訓練。

               小阿若約透過發言人Colette Phillips發了一份聲明，指該名女子的指控是報復性行為，完全沒有根據。他對市府的決定感到失望。他會全力和MCAD合作，努力澄清他的名譽。

               該名女子送交MCAD的申訴，一一點名了波士頓市長馬丁華殊，小阿若約，以及小阿若約的幕僚長Ilyitch Nahiely Tabora，聲稱她受到性騷擾，源自年齡及性別的報復，以及受敵視的工作環境。

               根據這份文件，這名女子是2015年10月時受聘，進入市長的健康及人民服務辦公室工作，直屬上司是小阿若約。

               在文件中她聲稱，從受聘開始，小阿若約就性騷擾她。如果她不講話，小阿若約就每天都騷擾她。如果她要求小阿若約停止碰觸她，講不洽當的話，大約有3個月的時間，小阿若約停止了那些行為，同時也不大和她溝通了。

            7月24號時，小阿若約又開始了那些不洽當的行為，她決定不再忍受，並和市府人事部約談，結果一名人事部人員把這約談放到了她的日程表上，但小阿若約和幕僚長都能看到這日程表。

               小阿若約看到這約談後，把她叫進辦公室，說了諸如”你不會想要傷害我，因為你不會想要我傷害你，對不對?”的話。

               這名女子7月25日和市府人事部晤談，次日和市長幕僚長高丹尼談，7月27日，她發了一封電郵，複述了高丹尼要她在小阿若約再威脅她，或覺得工作場所不安全時，立即告訴他以及人事部。7月28日小阿若約就被暫停職務了。
