波士頓馬拉松5K賽共9137人競跑

             (Boston Orange編譯) 波士頓體育會 (BAA)和哈佛朝聖者醫療保健中心合作舉辦的第 15 屆波士頓 5K 賽，共有 9,137 名跑者跑完全程，分別由厄立特里亞 (Eritrean)的Dawit Seare以13 分 33 秒，以及衣索比亞 (Ethiopia)的Gela Hambese以14 分 53 秒贏得男女子組冠軍。

5K賽輪椅組由瑞士的Marcel Hug以10分02秒，以及英國的Eden Rainbow-Cooper以12 分 08 秒，贏得男女組冠軍。Marcel Hug 是連續第4年獲得冠軍，Eden Rainbow-Cooper也是衛冕奪冠。

              Dawit Seare是贏得波士頓5K賽的第一個厄立特里亞人，Gela Hambese則是第一次參加波士頓5K賽。

              男子組的亞軍及季軍依序為英國跑者 Patrick Dever，成績13:35，肯亞跑者Amon Kemboi。女子組的亞軍及季軍依序為肯亞的Grace Loibach，成績14:55，以及美國的Taylor Roe，成績14:57。

              波士頓體育會的邀請賽則由美國的Casey Comber贏得男子菁英組冠軍，他還成為10年來第一個連續奪冠的跑者。女子菁英組則由肯亞的Dorcus Ewoi奪冠。

              波士頓馬拉松5K賽還包括青年賽，布魯克蘭鎮 (Brookline)的Altamo Aschkenasy贏得高中男子組冠軍，成績4:25，牛頓市的Ciara Evans贏得高中女子組冠軍，成績5:12。中學1000公尺賽，由布魯克蘭鎮的Bryce Hellendrung和Hopkinton的Nina Clement依序奪得男女子冠軍。

              在今年的這波士頓5K賽中，參賽名人包括波士頓馬拉松賽冠軍Uta Pippig，t/6ru 22:28，Meb Keflezighi，成績18:44，以及紅襪隊經理Alex Cora，成績24:47，還有贏得其年齡組冠軍的Kara Goucher，成績19:18。

              (Boston Orange 編譯)  第129屆波士頓馬拉松賽即將於4月21日揭幕，將有來自118國的3萬名跑者參賽。男子菁英組100人中有一位來自廈門Jia, Benjia排名第22位。

              波士頓市長吳弭和麻州緊急事務管理局（MEMA）、波士頓體育協會（B.A.A.）18日攜手召開記者會，說明安全工作就緒。

            波士頓市政府和 B.A.A. 將繼2023年首創之後，再次表揚「速度最快波士頓人」（Fastest Bostonians），表揚比賽中跑得最快的波士頓居民。

              DICK’S Sporting Goods 贊助的波士頓馬拉松粉絲嘉年華（Fan Fest）將第2度在市政廳廣場舉行，從 4 月 18 日(週五)至 4 月 20 日(週日)舉行，詳情請見 B.A.A. 網站。柯普利廣場公園（Copley Square Park）自翻新以來首次於馬拉松週一局部重新開放，供 B.A.A. 營運使用。

BOSTON – In advance of Patriots’ Day weekend, the Healey-Driscoll Administration today announced the launch of the official online store for Massachusetts 250 merchandise, featuring apparel and accessories that invite residents and visitors to show off their revolutionary spirit and commemorate Massachusetts’s prominent role in American history.   

“Massachusetts 250 is more than a tribute to the past –it's a call to honor our incredible communities, highlight our state’s contributions to the nation’s founding, and create opportunities for future leaders,” said Governor Maura Healey. “With the opening of our store, we’re inviting everyone to join us in celebrating this legacy and wearing this merchandise that brings our history to life.” 

“We may not be selling waistcoats, breeches and definitely no red coats, but there will be plenty of hats, hoodies and T-shirts to wear to re-enactments across the state,” said Lieutenant Governor Kim Driscoll. “The shop offers everyone a chance to engage with and proudly wear the Massachusetts 250 brand — a way to show their love for Massachusetts while honoring our essential role in the American Revolution.” 

Funds from the store will support marketing efforts for programs and attractions aligned with the Massachusetts 250 initiative that highlight the state’s rich history and heritage. Each item in the collection, from apparel designed for comfort in New England weather to commemorative keepsakes, provides a way for residents, visitors, and history enthusiasts to participate in this once-in-a-lifetime celebration.

慶祝亞裔傳統月 Healey州長辦公室展出Yu Cheng等 4 亞裔藝術家作品

              (Boston Orange 編譯) 麻州州長奚莉 (Maura Healey)慶祝亞裔傳統月，提前開跑，即日起至5月16日，在州長辦公室展出4位麻州居民亞裔藝術家的攝影、刺繡，繪畫等作品，

              奚莉州長強調亞裔社區對麻州的貢獻，也感謝麻州文化協會和麻州政府合作籌辦這展覽。副州長Kim Driscoll也點出藝術在代表社區的多元化與生氣蓬勃上多有力量。

奚莉州長自從上任後，就在州長辦公室擴大了多元藝術展示，藉由短期展覽，彰顯各個族裔傳統月。這次的慶祝亞裔傳統月展覽，挑選展出了Yu Cheng, Tira Khan, Timothy Hyunsoo Lee, and On-Kyeong Seong等4名藝術家的6幅作品。

Yu Cheng是為中國哈爾濱出生，目前住在麻州昆士市的全職藝術家，以油、丙烯酸和石墨來探索日常生活中的情感時刻，企圖抓住現在的美麗，記錄時間流逝。Yu Cheng獲有塔芙茨大學的波士頓美術博物館 (MFA)的藝術碩士。這次在州長辦公室展出的作品中，有"藝術工作坊 (Art Studio)"和”穿紅衣的女孩 (Girl in Red)”是她的作品。

Governor Healey Unveils Art Exhibition for Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month 

BOSTON – Today, Governor Maura Healey unveiled a temporary art installment showcasing the talent and creativity of Asian American artists living in Massachusetts. This exhibition includes a wide range of mediums—including photography, embroidery

and paintings—from artists of various Asian backgrounds. The exhibition, in partnership with the Mass Cultural Council, is displaying the work of Yu Cheng, Tira Khan, Timothy Hyunsoo Lee and On Kyeong Seong in the reception area of the Governor’s office through May 16.   

“This exhibition is a testament to the incredible contributions of the Asian American and Pacific Islander communities to our state,” said Governor Maura Healey. “I am excited to have this exhibition on display for the thousands of visitors to our office, and I’m thankful to Mass Cultural Council for partnering with us to bring more of the people’s work to the People’s House.”   

“Art is a powerful medium for expressing the diversity and vibrancy of our communities and gives us an opportunity to expand the people represented at the State House,” said Lieutenant Governor Kim Driscoll.  

Since taking office, Governor Healey sought to expand diverse art on display in the Governor’s Executive Office Suite by adding Black Tie by Robert T. Freeman and At the Tremont Street Car Barns by Allan Rohan Crite, which are on loan from the Museum of Fine Arts. She has also displayed other temporary exhibitions in the Governor’s reception area, including celebrating Black History, Climate Month, Pride Month, the Cape & Islands, Hispanic Heritage Month, Native American Heritage Month and Women Veterans. The office also has on loan from the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, Early Summer by J. Appleton Brown, Spring Hillside by J. J. Enneking, George Washington by Francis Alexander, Landscape by Leslie Prince Thompson andShowery May Morning, by J. Appleton Brown.  

Additional information about the temporary installments: 

Yu Cheng was born in Harbin, China, and is now a full-time artist based in Quincy, Massachusetts. She works with oil, acrylic, and graphite to explore fleeting moments in everyday life, attempting to record the passage of time by capturing the beauty of the present. Cheng holds an MFA (Master of Fine Arts) from the School of the Museum of Fine Arts at Tufts University. Her works Art Studio and Girl in Red are currently on display in the Governor’s Office. 

Tira Khan is an American photographer of Indian heritage who explores the meaning of family, the formal and informal moment, and the architecture of place. Khan has exhibited her work nationally and internationally in magazines, galleries, and festivals. Her series A Place I Never Knew was selected in 2025 for a Massachusetts Cultural Council Grant; in Photolucida's 2024 Critical Mass Top 50; and the 2021 Indian Photo Festival. Her images have been published in Vogue India; displayed in solo exhibitions at the Griffin Museum of Photography, The Allen Center in Newton, and the Boston Athenæum, where she was their Artist in Residence in 2022. Her photographs have been published in books, magazines, and newspapers, including Harper’s Magazine, Der Spiegel, Lenscratch, Musee Magazine, The Boston Globe, India’s News9, and The New York Times. Her images, This is Now, and End of the Alley, are currently on display in the Governor’s office. 

Timothy Hyunsoo Lee is an interdisciplinary artist whose practice explores the relationship between bodies, borders and rituals. Born in Seoul, South Korea and living in Boston, he creates art that references fortresses, imagined landscapes, fleshy bodies, and the transient moment in-between, to highlight the tumultuous experiences of immigration, of othering, and what belonging means within these communities as a queer body. Timothy’s works have been exhibited widely at venues such as the Smithsonian National Portrait Gallery, the Museum of Fine Arts Boston, the Orlando Museum of Art, the Studio Museum, The Wallach Art Gallery of Columbia University, The YoungArts Foundation Gallery and La Casa Encendida, with a public project with the MTA Arts & Design. His work The Cometboy as Iterations of a Thousand Anxious thoughts is on display in the Governor’s office.  

On-Kyeong Seong is a mixed media artist originally from Seoul, South Korea, who currently lives and works in Peabody, MA. She was an elementary school teacher in Korea for many years before coming to Boston to pursue her dream of becoming an artist. Seong immersed herself in art and culture by spending time in both Boston and New York City. She earned her MFA from the School of the Museum of Fine Arts at Tufts University and her BFA from Lesley University College of Art and Design in Cambridge. Seong’s work has been widely exhibited, including at the Newport Art Museum and Coastal Contemporary Gallery in Newport, RI; Wheelock College and Boston University; Kingston Gallery, Boston; the Brookline Art Center, Brookline, MA; Harvard University; and Massachusetts College of Art and Design, Boston and Cove Street Art, Portland, Maine. Her work Rooting through the Grid is currently on display.

            (Boston Orange) 中華表演藝術基金會（Chinese Performing Arts Foundation）將於5月3日（週六）晚8點，以「貝多芬慶典：小提琴家林以信與好友們」為主題，在新英格蘭音樂學院 (NEC) 喬丹廳 (Jordan Hall) 舉辦音樂會，向貝多芬致敬。

這場音樂會是中華表演藝術基金會第36屆音樂季的第4場音樂會。小提琴家林以信（Joseph Lin）將和他的好友，鋼琴家黃海倫（Helen Huang）、大提琴家 Raman Ramakrishnan、中提琴家黃心芸（Hsin-Yun Huang），以及小提琴家 Claire Bourg等人，匯集小提琴奏鳴曲、鋼琴三重奏和弦樂四重奏等多種室內樂形式，一起演奏貝多芬創作生涯中具有轉折意義的三部作品，：小提琴奏鳴曲第10號 G大調，作品96，弦樂四重奏第11號 F小調，作品95《嚴肅曲》，鋼琴三重奏第7號 B大調，作品97《大公爵》。

中華表演藝術基金會表示，這場音樂盛宴將引領聽眾踏上一段豐富而迷人的音樂旅程，感受貝多芬不同時期的音樂風格與情感表達。

領銜演奏的小提琴家林以信，小時候就已展現音樂天賦，13歲進入茱莉亞音樂學院先修班，2000年以優異成績從哈佛畢業，其後到北京研習中國音樂，在茱莉亞音樂學院執教，並曾擔任茱莉亞弦樂四重奏的第一小提琴。他得過音樂藝術家協會國際比賽一等獎、總統藝術學者獎、國際音樂節 Pro Musicis International Award 以及 Michael Hill 國際小提琴比賽一等獎等多項殊榮。近年來，他為兼顧家庭，辭去四重奏職位，但仍繼續教學，並積極參與藝術活動。

黃海倫（Helen Huang）也從小就展現驚人音樂才華，曾獲林肯中心馬丁斯格最有前途青年音樂家獎及艾佛瑞‧費雪事業獎，並與世界頂尖樂團合作演出，其演奏風格以純淨輕靈、樸實內歛、情感真摯著稱。

Raman Ramakrishnan是Horszowski 三重奏和 Daedalus 四重奏的創始成員，現為波士頓室內樂協會成員，並任教於巴德學院音樂學院。

400多猶太人抗議川普以「反猶太主義」名義打壓異己 促麻州通過「尊嚴而非驅逐法」

              (Boston Orange 編譯) 400多猶太人，4月17日晚聚在波士頓市府大樓外示威，抗議，呼籲聯邦政府立即釋放塔芙茨大學學生Rumeysa Ozturk，反對川普以打擊「反猶太主義」名義，侵犯公民自由，促請麻州政府通過「尊嚴而非驅逐法（Dignity Not Deportations Act）」。

              這400多人來自大波士頓地區的至少12個猶太組織，高舉著「釋放 Rumeysa」，「團結反對獨裁」等標語。

他們特地選擇在4月12日至20日之間的猶太人逾越節 (Passover) 聚集，抗議美國移民及海關執法局 (ICE)的逮捕、羈押土耳其籍的塔大學生Rumeysa Ozturk，藉以把猶太人追求自由的故事和留學生，移民被拘留的困境連結起來，強調他們的訴求不只是釋放Rumeysa，而是呼籲猶太人社區抵制川普政府的相關政策，推動麻州通過「尊嚴而非驅逐法」，限制地方與ICE合作。

Boston, MA — A broad coalition of Rabbis, rabbinical students, and leaders of Jewish community organizations addressed a rally of over 400 Boston-area Jews Thursday evening outside Boston City Hall, opposing what they described as the use of antisemitism as a false pretense for attacks on civil liberties by the Trump administration. Speakers and organizers affiliated with Temple Sinai, Temple Beth Zion, Congregation Dorshei Tzedek, Temple Hillel B'nai Torah, Nehar Shalom Community Synagogue, Kavod Boston, Boston Workers Circle, T’ruah: The Rabbinic Call for Human Rights, Reform Jews for Justice, the New England Jewish Labor Committee, IfNotNow Boston, and Rabbis for Ceasefire addressed the peaceful demonstration, and called on the broader American Jewish community to join in resisting the Trump administration’s agenda. Banners reading “Safety Through Solidarity, not Authoritarians”, “Jews Say: Free Rumeysa”,  and “Jewish and Palestinian Safety Are Intertwined” were held by attendees, along with signs reading “Jews Against Deportations” and “Jews Say: Not In Our Name.”

Speakers at the rally included State Representative Erika Uyterhoeven, Rabbi Claudia Kreiman of Temple Beth Zion, Rabbi Andy Vogel of Temple Sinai, Rabbi Leora Abelson of Nehar Shalom Community Synagogue, Rabbi Aliza Schwartz of Temple Hillel B’nei Torah, and Rabbi Rebecca Hornstein of Boston Workers Circle, along with several rabbinical students at Hebrew College. The demonstration, which called on the Trump administration to release students detained by ICE, featured  a “Seder in the Streets” coinciding with the Jewish holiday of Passover, with Rabbis speaking to parallels between the traditional story of Jewish liberation and themes of solidarity and support for students and immigrants detained by ICE, Palestinians facing deadly attacks in Gaza, and Israeli hostages held in captivity.

Prominent Boston-area Rabbis, some with diverging views on the war in Gaza, described how they were brought together in shared opposition to the abduction and detention of Tufts student Rumeysa Ozturk and Columbia students Mahmoud Khalil and Mohsen Madawi under the Trump administration’s pretense of fighting antisemitism. Local Jewish community leaders rejected the administration’s attempt to silence political opposition and denounced the Trump administration’s assault on the rule of law, freedom of speech, and the independence of the judiciary, warning against the administration’s attempt at an authoritarian takeover. They also spoke to the need to pass laws and take strong action at the state level to prevent the expansion of the detention and deportation machine, advocating for the passage of the Dignity Not Deportations Act, which would limit state and local cooperation with ICE.

“I am an immigrant to this country. I grew up in Chile under the Pinochet dictatorship, and I am Israeli,” said Rabbi Claudia Kreiman of Temple Beth Zion, who is also a board member of T’ruah: The Rabbinic Call for Human Rights.  “When I saw the video of Rumeysa Ozturk being taken into custody and handcuffed in Somerville, it didn’t feel like history repeating, it felt like a memory. Silencing and disappearing people in our name does not bring us closer to peace or justice. As an Israeli and a rabbi, I want to say clearly: This is not how we protect Jews or Israelis.”

“It’s clear that a broad cross section of the Jewish community in Boston opposes the arrests and detentions of students,” said Rabbi Andy Vogel of Temple Sinai, “This is a crucial time for all of us as Jews who care about human decency, human dignity, and democratic standards to all stand together. This is a crucial time for Jews who care about the well-being of the Jewish people, and of all peoples, to speak out together.” 

“Arresting and threatening the deportation of university students is not an effective or appropriate response to antisemitism, and it is not wanted by our Jewish communities,” said Rabbi Leora Abelson of Nehar Shalom Community Synagogue and a member of Rabbis for Ceasefire. “As the US government continues to support and enable the Israeli government in their campaign to ethnically cleanse Gaza and annex the West Bank, we call out the detention of activists in the US as a smokescreen for the real threats facing Jews and everyone: authoritarianism, white supremacy, and Christian nationalism. The detention of activists is a deliberate effort to silence our dissent, but we will not be silenced–and coming together in a diverse coalition like this one is an expression of our strength.”

“We know that the Trump administration's cynical weaponization of antisemitism to target activists and immigrants endangers us all, and we will not be fooled into allowing our community to be the face of the administration's assault on civil rights,” said Aron Wander, Rabbinical student at Hebrew College, “As it says in Isaiah 30:3, ‘Refuge with Pharaoh shall result in your shame.’ We know that our freedom and safety is bound up in the liberation of all peoples.”
