INNOVATION COURTYARD FESTIVAL

BOSTON - Friday, May 26, 2017 - Mayor Martin J. Walsh today announced Boston will host its first-ever Courtyard Festival. A one-night speaker event at City Hall Plaza, the festival bring together innovative business leaders to explore the ways startups and new technologies will shape the future of Boston. Held on June 1, 2017 from 5 p.m. - 8 p.m. on the City Hall Plaza fourth floor courtyard, the festival is part of the City's plans bring engaging events to City Hall Plaza, and will open and free to all.

"Boston leads the way in business, technology and innovation, and I'm thrilled to host the City's first-ever Courtyard Festival to celebrate Boston's businesses, and technology leaders," said Mayor Walsh. "I encourage residents and visitors to attend this Festival, and learn more about how innovation is shaping our City."

In partnership with the Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce, Mayor Walsh will host keynote speakers from the fields of robotics, mobility, agriculture, sports innovation and creative freelance work at the Courtyard Festival.

The Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce is co-sponsoring the event. Justin Kang, executive director of City Awake, the Chamber's civic innovation lab focused on millennials, will deliver concluding remarks.

Rooney, president & CEO of the Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce. "The Courtyard Festival creates an exciting opportunity to bring together and celebrate the people and emerging companies that are an important part of Boston's business community."

The event will also feature Soul Monstahs, from the Berklee College of Music, and a startup demonstration from prominent members of the innovation community.
