The B.A.A. Distance Medley is a three-race series which includes the B.A.A. 5K on Saturday, April 19, the B.A.A. 10K on Sunday, June 22, and the B.A.A. Half Marathon, presented by Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and the Jimmy Fund, on Sunday, October12.

“We are pleased to continue the B.A.A. Distance Medley, which offers a unique and competitive series for both recreational and professional runners,” said B.A.A. Executive Director Tom Grilk. “Many recreational runners who are making their training and racing plans in 2014 will look to this series, which provides three races progressively increasing in distance during the course of the year. The addition of age group awards will add to the spirit of competition in the B.A.A. Distance Medley.”

New for the 2014 B.A.A. Distance Medley, age group awards will be given to the top three finishers in each of the following age groups: 14-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, and 80+. Age groups are determined by the athlete’s age on the day of the 2014 B.A.A. Half Marathon, which is scheduled to be held on Sunday, October 12.

Every registered participant who completes the 2014 B.A.A. Distance Medley will receive a special commemorative medal for the series in addition to receiving a finisher’s medal for each race. Each athlete will also be listed on the B.A.A. Distance Medley Leader Board, which displays the top male and female competitors throughout the series. Each runner who registers for the entire B.A.A. Distance Medley this January will receive a bib number which calls-out participation in the B.A.A. Distance Medley.

In 2013, a total of 2,048 runners registered for the B.A.A. Distance Medley and 1,319 runners completed the series. The B.A.A.
