1. Constituent Services
Service records indicated that particularly in the Chinese community, repeated constituent requests are in the following catergores:
1. Tax issue inquires - assisting in tax bills reading for special assessments, water lien, fiscal year, 1st and 2nd quarters as preliminary taxes,
explaning differnences among mortage payment, escrow account, interest, principle and insuarnce charges ... etc.
Filing for senior tax abatement, Excise Tax abatment,
2. Water bills - leaking inspection, backup in the house, request for additional water meter installation ...
3. Trash and Recycling - missed pick up, yard waste schedule, bulk item pick-up, request for bilingual materials
4. Reporting of street light repairs, pot holes, sidewalk repairs, tree and tree limb trimming & removal ...
5. At Winter times - snow removal, flooding concerns and other issues
6. Traffic - request for parking signs, (2-4 hour limits, handicapped), overnight parking permits
7. Building Dept - work permit for lawn paving, fence, staircway construction, renovation ... etc.
8. Landlord/ tenant dispute - tenant/landlord rights, lease, cash rent payment, eviction, no heat report, health sanitary condition, illegal lodgings ...
9. Immigration - pending cases that seek Congressman Lynch's support
9. Other businesses:
referrals to Welfare, Domestic Violence programs, Legal Aid Services, Workers Rights programs, pre school programs, housing/ shelters, how to start a business ...
RMV (Registry of Motor Vehicles) services, plate returning and driver's license renewal ...
The Mayor's Office has been publishing a Chinese/ English bilingual guidebook on City Services since year 2009.

3. "The Eye on Quincy TV Show"
(live broadcast on the 1st and 3rd Mondays of every month at 7pm on QATV, except holidays)
The next live broadcast is scheduled to Aug 3, 2015 on QATV-8 at 7pm
at the Quincy Community Access TV Station at 88 Washington St. in Quincy Ctr.
Live audiences, visitors and volunteers are welcome.

4. The "Quincy Monthly Luncheon"
The “Quincy Monthly Luncheon” is a self-pay luncheon which was started in Quincy by a group of Asian community workers in the early 1990s. "New comers" are welcome to join this informal social gathering. To request an evite to the luncheon to meet new and old friends, feel free to write an email to Betty Yau at Kfyau@aol.com or byau@quincyma.gov
The July luncheon was well attended by 11 people on July 22 at Quincy China Pearl.
