为了更好的服务美东华人社区（不限于清华校友），清华企业家协会（TEEC）美东分会，联合清华经管学院美东分会、纽约清华校友会、 波士顿清华校友会以及麻省理工华人创业协会（MIT CEO）将于今年在大纽约地区和大波士顿地区开启第一期“美东TEEC未来领袖领航计划”。本计划的目标是通过学员与导师面对面头脑风暴的方式，将年轻一代的活力与前辈们经验和智慧相融合，激发年轻一代的无限潜能与社会责任感，为社会培养拥有国际视野的未来企业家，同时，也为前辈们注入更多创新的活力。

活动形式:

此计划将分为职业组与创业组，每组由3-5名导师以及5-8名学员组成，课程共设立为3-5期。课程为期8个月，单月为讨论月，学员与导师就某一课题展开讨论，双月为访问月，主办方会组织学员访问著名企业，并与企业高管面对面沟通，感受伟大公司的文化氛围，解答学员内心的疑惑，学习企业经营之道；同时，主办方还会不定期组织与行业领军人物的研讨会及社交活动，帮助学员开阔眼界，提升格局，扩展人脉。

在结业时主办方会举行毕业典礼，并颁发结业证书，学员和导师也会将学习期间的感受，收获以及建议汇总并发表在相关平台上，为下一期的美东领航计划抛砖引玉。

张鸿飞Hongfei Zhang

张鸿飞先生现任弘桥投资集团管理合伙人，曾在华尔街资产管理、投资银行和保险等领域担任多种高级管理职务。张先生对多种金融产品有广泛知识，并在交易、投资组合管理、风险控制、以及重组并购、融资、房地产业务等方面拥有丰富的经验。张先生是HEY资本的创始合伙人，专注投资CMBS， MBS 和ABS。他曾担任鑫根资本高级管理合伙人, 负责国际业务，包括跨境并购，房地产和基金管理等。 张先生曾就职于法国/比利时Dexia集团，担任董事经理和风险总监以及资产负债管理委员会执行成员，直接负责200亿美元的投资以及衍生物交易。此外，他还曾在德意志银行纽约任全球股票对冲经纪业务部任高级职位, 并曾在美国前十名的Nationwide保险公司投资部担任投资董事。张先生领导和管理了第一个保险业界的动态避险项目：对冲变动年金。在进入金融业前，张先生在德克萨斯大学奥斯汀分校和波尔州立大学担任教授, 也是阿冈国家实验室研究员之一；张先生曾获荷兰代尔夫特科技大学数学系博士及清华大学应用数学学士学位，亦是特许金融分析师（CFA）。

罗建刚Jiangang Luo

罗建刚是Prime Science & Technology的联合创始人，专注于清洁能源技术，软件和服务外包业。曾任大纽约清华大学校友会董事会主席，美国联合商会主席，全美湖南工商会秘书张，新州华人电脑协会前会長/董事。任职期间曾协办﹑主办过许多大型讲座﹑会议﹐深受大纽约地区会员们的信赖。

２００９年以来创办中美清洁能源及技术论坛(www.ChinaCleantech.com)，致力于在能源和环保领域建立中美间的交流，融资管道和合作机制，在对相关领域的投资趋势予以探讨的同时，也充份调动社会力量，推动相关技术的应用和市场发展。第一届中美清洁能源及技术论坛于2009年4月25日在美国新泽西举行，与会者包括技术专家、企业家与投资者，以清洁能源为主要议题，就再生能源产业投资的政策规范和整体走势、中美清洁煤技术市场展望及相关国际合作、绿色建筑节能系列应用等方面进行了卓有成效的交流探讨。2010年论坛已于7月下旬在中国鄂尔多斯举行。这是一场融中美智力，集采全球清洁能源技术盛会的中国之旅。海内外专家齐聚内蒙，为祖国的新能源事业尽了绵薄之力。

文兵 Bing Wen

文兵先生目前就职于中信银行(国际)纽约分行任行长兼美国区域总裁，负责中信银行在美业务的全面发展。文先生拥有二十余年全球大型跨国金融机构工作经历，有着丰富的金融业风险及资本管理经验，擅长公司财务规划及战略研究。曾任中国工商银行纽约分行任首席风险官；招商银行总行实施新资本协议办公室总经理；此前，文先生还曾在花旗集团纽约金融总部工作，是花旗全球专业信用风险分析团队负责人；曾就职于美国运通集团风险管理部纽约总部，负责违约公司客户的破产清算及重组分析研究；文先生曾任中国银监会资本计量高级方法监管指引起草小组成员，中国银行业协会风险管理培训专家，风险管理教材编委会委员，多次在全国性金融风险论坛上做主题发言并在相关金融刊物上发表署名文章。曾任全美华人金融协会纽约及深圳分会会长，持有美国特许金融分析师（CFA）证书。

胡剑Jian Hu

胡剑博士自2008年9月起担任穆迪公司结构融资部董事总经理，主管全球结构信贷和衍生产品的监控。他同时也负责协调全球证券化产品的研究，并参与领导穆迪对中国经济的研究及中国资产证券化产品和市场的分析和研究。他曾长期对美国金融市场和结构化产品进行研究，并在专业杂志上发表过多篇论文。他对美国失业率，股市波动及与经济周期相关性的研究成果发表于美国权威的《金融学期刊》，并获得当年最佳论文提名。在加入穆迪公司之前，他曾就职于位于华盛顿特区的房利美公司从事住房抵押贷款证券组合的风险分析。胡剑毕业于清华大学经管学院经济系，曾在经管学院留校从事研究和在国家体改委从事公司改革的工作。他在九十年代留美学习，获得明尼苏达大学卡尔森商学院金融系博士学位。胡剑曾担任全美华人金融协会会长和理事会主席。

过大江 Dajiang Guo 

2016年8月1日，华兴资本集团宣布委任过大江博士担任首席战略官，过博士将负责华兴资本集团企业战略的规划与制定，向华兴资本集团首席执行官包凡汇报。过大江博士曾担任中信证券董事总经理、战略规划部负责人、投资银行委运营部负责人，以及中信证券国际美国公司的首席执行官。在此之前，过博士曾在中金公司香港与美国公司担任管理职位，发展中金在美国的平台与销售交易业务。过大江博士曾在花旗集团全球市场部担任结构化信用产品分析部门负责人，专注于资产证券化、结构化信用产品及衍生品，以及不良资产的组合管理。他还曾任职于苏格兰皇家银行格林威治金融资本市场部、苏黎世金融服务公司旗下的Center RE 再保险。过博士曾受聘于纽约保险学院和加拿大圭尔夫大学担任助理教授。他在多家知名金融期刊上发表过多篇学术文章，并于2000年获得美国财产险精算协会Michelbacher奖项。过博士拥有加拿大多伦多大学金融经济学博士学位，同时是特许注册金融分析师（CFA）持证人。

波士顿职业组：

李海洋Haiyang Li 

梭子鱼网络公司（Barracuda Networks）工程部资深总监; Intronis（梭子鱼网络公司并购）工程部副总裁; 西北大学凯洛格商学院MBA。

李海洋2000年加入Salary.com的初创团队，从软件工程师做起，晋升到工程部总监。在这期间从事人力资源薪酬和人才管理软件的研发，经历了.com泡沫爆裂，公司快速扩张，新产品线的开发和推广，公司IPO，并购，启动中国研发中心，以及被并购。2012年加入Intronis任工程部总监，从事面向渠道的网络备份解决方案的研发。2013年晋升为工程部副总裁。Intronis于2015年被梭子鱼网络公司并购。李海洋是微软认证的网络工程师，数据库管理员以及解决方案架构师。

  

邬涛

邬涛目前担任微软AI和研究小组的主要数据科学经理，他带领的数据科学和架构小组帮助客户更好的了解运用云，机器学习和大数据等技术。他的团队也在集成开源数据科学仪器工具,如Jupyter.Spark和Azure。在此工作之前,他担任诺基亚首席数据科学家,领导公司的发展了第一大数据分析平台,并帮助建立其数据科学实践。在他职业生涯的早期,邬涛先生担任诺基亚研究中心和麻省理工学院的研究人员。

  

韩成 Cheng Han

韩成现担任美国纽约梅隆银行EAGLE公司信息服务及大数据分析产品副总裁， 着力建设全球一体化基于数据分析和人工智能管理的资产管理系统。 在纽约梅隆银行之前，他创立了中国第一大专业媒体出版和销售平台DynoMedia Incorporated, 收购了中国互动出版物(www.china-pub.com) 并成功转型为主营数字化出版和数字化发行的综合业务。之前，韩成先生就职于甲骨文公司，美国亚马逊集团和北京金沙江创投等企业。

韩成拥有威斯康辛麦迪逊大学计算机硕士学位及麻省理工学院斯隆商学院工商管理硕士学位。 在此之前，就读于中国北京清华大学计算机系攻读人工智能专业。

丁元华 Yuanhua Ding

丁元华博士目前担任辉瑞公司的执行董事，并任职辉瑞全球研发(wrs)机构亚太地区的外部科学与创新(ES&I)部门主管。他也是ES&I领导团队的成员，并联合ES&I团队,辉瑞业务发展集团以及辉瑞亚洲国家办事处共同评估亚太学术、生物技术和制药实验室的技术及资产,寻找孵化早期的生物技术公司的机会,用以构建和管理学术机构的研究网络,生物技术和制药公司,以及风险投资集团和生物制药领域。他负责提供管理者治疗领域和技术研究必要的科学,技术和产品，用来更好的支持辉瑞公司研发任务的

丁元华博士本科毕业于北京大学电子工程专业，研究生毕业于清华大学生物物理硕士。于1996年在匹兹堡大学完成博士研究，后转到哈佛大学完成博士后。

邵旭辉 Xuhui Shao

清华自动化系学士、硕士，明尼苏达大学EECS博士。现任雅虎广告及大数据平台的工程副总裁，负责开发雅虎新一代的广告系统以及支撑广告，网络及移动应用的大数据系统。邵旭辉拥有十余年带领计算智能，大数据和软件工程团队研究和开发的经验。现任TEEC天使基金的投资合伙人。曾任网络广告技术公司Turn的首席技术官。在数据挖掘和机器学习方面拥有四项应用技术专利。

纽约创业组：

孙中平 Steve Sun

孙中平博士，GENEWIZ（金唯智生物科技）创始人，董事长。清华大学学士, 硕士，美国哥伦比亚大学博士，洛克菲勒大学博士后。

孙中平博士在美国创办GENEWIZ ，任董事长。GENEWIZ总部位于美国新泽西州，在位于美国，中国，欧洲，日本的14个国际生物医药研发热点设立了实验室，聚焦基因测序及合成产业。GENEWIZ连续数年入选INC杂志增长最快的美国公司榜，及NJBIZ的新泽西增长最快的50强榜。孙中平博士曾获美国安永公司（E&Y）的年度企业家奖，美国新泽西州中美商会颁发的杰出企业家奖。

  

赵萌 Meng Zhao

赵萌先生是银联智策的创始人之一，具备扎实的学术功底和良好的个人素质.1997年9月至2003年6月于清华大学管理科学与工程专业攻读学士和硕士学位，2003年8月至2006年9月于美国杜克大学富卡商学院攻读运营管理专业硕士学位。2006年9月就职于美国第一资本银行，而后分别在美国银行、巴克莱银行担任重要职位。从基层的数据分析师做起，一步步晋升为全球顶尖金融机构的高管，并在产品、风险、市场等部门担当过重要职位，经历了金融危机前、中、后的完整经济周期的考验，有着丰富的实际操作经验和领导艺术；有为中国经济贡献力量的强烈爱国心和使命感，有敏锐把握业界发展方向的国际战略视野，有脚踏实地、谦虚谨慎的创业精神。在他的带领下，银联智策在创业第一年就建立起世界领先的大数据分析环境，打开了国内市场，在业界树立了良好的声誉。目前银联智策在他的规划下向着大数据时代专业的战略分析咨询公司迈进，为金融改革最核心的难点贡献着解决方案，为客户创造着实实在在的价值。

杨峻峰Junfeng Yang

杨峻峰先生是哥伦比亚大学计算机系教授，NimbleDroid的联合创始人及首席执行官。之前在微软硅谷研究院担任研究人和顾问，在斯坦福大学获得计算机博士学位，在清华大学获得计算机学士学位。过去15年他一直致力于创建更快，更稳定，更安全的软件系统。他发明的技术，算法，及工具被广泛用于测试和优化多种软件。他的工作被多家媒体报道，包括美国ACM的旗舰杂志CACM，The Register，及The Atlantic，并赢得多个奖项，包括Google研究奖，Sloan研究奖，美国空军科学研究YIP奖，和美国自然科学基金Career奖。

王金龙 Jerry Wang 

王金龙先生于 2008 年到 2010 年在美国圣母大学基金担任投资主管，管理全球私募股权和亚洲投资两个投资组合，总投资额超过 10 亿美元。王金龙先生于 2011 年到 2013 年担任美国 Wesleyan 大学基金的助理投资总监，协助首席投资官管理超过 6 亿美元的全球投资组合。 

王金龙先生主导了对 30 多家基金超过 5 亿美元的投资，管理的投资组合囊括了中国和美国最优秀的风险投资基金，包括红杉资本，凯鹏华盈，Union Square Ventures, AndreessenHorowitz 等和中国和美国最领先的私募股权基金，包括鼎晖、弘毅、TPG、KKR 等和中国和美国做领先的对冲基金高瓴、润晖、老虎系列基金等。王金龙先生于 2014 年创立海投金融，曾主导了阿里巴巴和滴滴等中国独角兽公司的未上市股权投资和奇虎 360 等私有化项目的投资。王金龙先生还主导在美国的房地产和能源的投资。王金龙先生从 2006 年在德丰杰龙脉基金开始进行风险投资，并在硅谷，纽约等创新中心投资了多个天使投资项目。王金龙先生在清华大学获得工程学士学位，并在美国圣母大学获得工程硕士和工商管理硕士学位。

波士顿创业组：

魏可成 Coach Wei

魏可成，于清华大学1996年本科毕业（自动化和结构工程）， 1998年于麻省理工学院毕业， 是二十多项美国和国际专利的发明者，有丰富的创业，融资， 销售及成功退出的执行经验。他曾被不少孵化器和企业聘为创业导师，对企业运作， 投资， 和孵化有丰富经验.

从2000到2009，他在波士顿创立Nexaweb， 从一个人开始，建立团队， 融资，销售， 一直到成功退出。  Nexaweb是全球第一家开发web 2.0 技术的软件公司之一，有8项美国专利， 在美国， 日本及欧洲都有很多大型企业客户，包括Nokia, 西门子, 百事可乐及日本的许多大银行。 Nexaweb 对互联网从1.0 到 2.0 的转变起到先驱作用。 2006年他和IBM， Google， Microsoft等150 家科技公司成立了OpenAjax Alliance，并连续三年当选为七名Steering Committee成员之一，确保了互联网2.0 发展的开放性。在2007年他被选为 “40 under 40“。  Nexaweb 后来被成功收购。 2009 年他在波士顿创立Yottaa，一家云计算自动化优化服务的软件公司 。做为第一发明人，他开发15项美国和国际专利。他用来创办Yottaa的专利计术， 被麻省技术领导委员会 （Mass TLC）评为 2013年 “最创新的云技术”。  作为CEO，他从美国一流的投资者融集五千万美元投资，把公司从零成长到100多家企业客户，包括很多10 亿美元以上的客户。公司现还在成长之中。 他于2016年创立第三家公司，专注于人工智能在企业的应用。

金学成Michael Jin 

清华生物医学工程本科、硕士，斯坦福电子工程博士。世界知名的模拟及数模混合集成电路与节能电源技术专家，英特格灵芯片有限公司的执行董事CTO，全面负责公司的模拟与数模混合集成电路产品定义与工程研发。4家美中高科技公司的共同创始人及TEEC天使基金的创始合伙人，最新的成功退出是2013年7月3.45亿美元的 iWatt-Dialog并购案。曾任清华企业家协会(TEEC)的国际副主席及北美分会主席；现任TEEC，美中高层次人才交流协会(UCAHP)及清华大学北美校友基金(TAFNA)的理事。

刘友忠 Richard Liu

刘友忠博士于2008年加入Google，先后负责Google Search Appliance, Google Shopping 和 Google Offers 的研发团队，参与并负责了公司众多电子商务产品的创意，策划和开发，逐步成长为工程总监。从2014初，开始负责Project Fi的工程研发。在Google之外，刘博士也是 TEEC Angel 的 Venture Partner。 刘友忠先生从美国佛罗里达大学获得电子及计算机工程博士学位，从Southern Methodist University获得MBA，并分别在四川大学和清华大学获得学士和硕士学位。

MAYOR WALSH ANNOUNCES REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS FOR   BRUCE C. BOLLING BUILDING Administration encourages fresh ideas for family-friendly activation in historic heart of Boston to enhance community and meet demand from local economic development

BOSTON - Thursday, August 10, 2017 - Mayor Martin J. Walsh today announced the City of Boston has released a request for proposals (RFP) to operate and activate the 7,800 square foot street-level space in the Bruce C. Bolling Municipal Building in Dudley Square. The RFP calls for an operator for the space, suitable to accommodate a wide range of businesses including a restaurant, a major performance space, or a meeting space, that will meet the demand for retail in the area, will enhance the community with a dynamic storefront, and activate Dudley Square with news ideas for family-friendly entertainment and initiatives. "The Bruce C. Bolling Municipal Building represents Dudley Square's historic commercial and community center, and we look forward to welcoming a new partner who will continue the innovative spirit of the building," said Mayor Walsh. "I look forward to an imaginative and ambitious proposal that will expand opportunities for residents, benefit the Dudley Square community, and bring to gether Roxbury and surrounding neighborhoods." Located in the heart of Dudley Square, the historic, mixed-use Bruce C. Bolling Municipal Building is the headquarters of Boston Public Schools, uniting 500 administrative staff and attracting visitors for public meetings and hearings throughout the year. The Bolling Building is also home to the Roxbury Innovation Center, public meeting and engagement spaces, and approximately 10,000 square feet of leased tenant space at the street level, bringing needed private sector retail and evening restaurant offerings to Dudley Square. The ground-level space on the north front of the building is currently considered a core and shell space, allowing proposed tenants to customize the space to their unique plan for activation. "As a bustling center for daily transit, retail, and community activity, this new tenant will be woven into the fabric of Dudley Square and serve as a crucial stakeholder in its continued revitalization," said John F. Barros, Chief of Economic Development. "As the greater Roxbury community continues to attract new commercial, residential, and mixed-use development, additional retail and entertainment opportunities will bring provide local employment opportunities, community programming, and showcase the neighborhood's unique identity." Located in the geographic center of Boston, Dudley Square contains over 150 businesses, representing retail demand by neighborhood residents of more than $610 million annually. The square is anchored by the Commonwealth's most heavily trafficked MBTA bus station, serving 35,000 people a day. Recent revitalization efforts by the City, including the renovation of the Dudley Branch Library, have served as a catalyst for private development in the greater Roxbury area. Development projects underway or in review include the over 300,000 square foot mixed-use Guscott Rio Grande building at 2343-2345 Washington Street; the mixed-use Tremont Crossing, which includes over 288,000 square feet of destination retail, 116,000 square feet of neighborhood retail, and the 31,000 square foot NCAAA Museum and Exhibition Space; and, the Melnea Hotel and Residences, a 135 room hotel and residential apartment building with 8,000 square feet of retail space permitted. The future of Dudley Square is currently being envisioned through PLAN: Dudley Square, a community plan exploring the development program of publicly owned parcels, which builds upon the Roxbury Strategic Master Plan. Imagine Boston 2030, the first city-wide planning process in 50 years, identified the Bolling Building as a model public-private partnership that should be replicated in other growth areas of the City. Guided tours of the building will follow. Responses will be due no later than 3:00 p.m. on September 27, 2017. About the Bruce C. Bolling Municipal BuildingThe Bruce C. Bolling Municipal Building opened on April 27, 2015, and incorporates the Ferdinand Furniture Building, the Curtis Block and the Waterman & Sons building, into a new state of the art facility. The six-story building houses an estimated 500 municipal employees from Boston Public Schools and features office space, as well as open space for student work, school events, and community gatherings. The building also includes 18,000 square feet of street-level space, and the 3,350 square foot Roxbury Innovation Center. The Building is a 2017 Silver medalist for the Rudy Bruner Award for Urban Excellence. The City of Boston's $115 million investment in the Bruce C. Bolling Municipal Building has spurred private investment across Dudley Square. The building is a collaboration between the City of Boston's Property and Construction Management Department, and the Boston Planning and Development Agency working closely with the community and historic preservationists. The Bruce C. Bolling Municipal Building was designed by Mecanoo architecten and Sasaki Associates. Shawmut Design and Construction served as the CM at-Risk contractor, with project management services being handled by PMA Consultants.

Company Allegedly Directly Billed Members for Services Covered by State Medicaid Program; Settlement Returns Money to Hundreds of Members, Provides for Credit Repair

BOSTON – A nationwide provider of home healthcare products will pay more than $750,000 for directly billing people for services covered by the state’s Medicaid program (MassHealth), Attorney General Maura Healey announced today.

Today’s settlement provides refunds to hundreds of affected MassHealth members.

Under the terms of the assurance of discontinuance and related settlement agreement, Apria Healthcare LLC (Apria) has agreed to pay $99,008 in restitution and $665,934 in penalties to resolve allegations that the company directly billed members for services that were already covered by MassHealth.

“MassHealth provides critical healthcare to low-income individuals, including people with disabilities, children and senior citizens, yet this company billed them for services that were already covered,” AG Healey said. “Through our settlement with Apria, hundreds of members who paid bills they did not owe will get their money back.”

Apria provides medical services and devices, including durable medical equipment, to MassHealth members and has two Massachusetts locations in Springfield and Wilmington.

The AG’s Medicaid Fraud Division began an investigation after the matter was referred by MassHealth’s Provider Compliance Unit and the UMass Medical School Enhanced Coordination of Benefits Division, who received complaints from members that Apria was trying to collect money from them for services covered by MassHealth.

The AG investigation revealed that between December 2011 and April 2017, Apria inappropriately billed more than 1,000 members for hundreds of thousands of dollars of services already covered by MassHealth, in violation of MassHealth regulations and state consumer protection laws. The AG’s Office estimates that more than 500 of those patients paid those bills and will receive restitution from this settlement.

The AG’s settlement with Apria requires that the company cooperate with the AG’s Office to repair the credit of any consumers whose claims were sent to third-party collection agencies and whose credit scores may have been negatively impacted. It also requires the company to institute a compliance monitoring program.

               This matter was handled by Assistant Attorney General Nita Klunder and Investigator Robert Ames, both of AG Healey’s Medicaid Fraud Division. MassHealth assisted in this investigation.

MAYOR WALSH ANNOUNCES 2017 CITY OF BOSTON SCHOLARSHIP FUND AWARDEES

BOSTON - Thursday, August 9, 2017 - Mayor Martin J. Walsh this week joined the City of Boston Scholarship Committee in awarding 35 students $2,500 scholarships to help fund their education. The Scholarship Fund was established in 1995 to provide assistance to residents who plan to pursue a two- or four-year undergraduate program within Massachusetts.   "Each City of Boston Scholarship awardee clearly demonstrates a deep commitment to our community and strong academic promise," said Mayor Walsh. "Thank you for the time and effort you put into sharing your experiences and dreams through the application process. You are the future leaders of Boston, and I wish you all the best as you embark on your higher education journey." Currently, over 100 students receive an annual scholarship of $2,500 through the fund. Scholarship recipients may reapply each year. Applicants must be residents of Boston and have graduated from high school by the time the awards are made in May. The scholarship program, which operates under the authority of a Scholarship Committee, is managed by the Mayor's Education Cabinet. Funds for the scholarships are made possible from contributions made by citizens and corporations. The City of Boston Scholarship Committee has awarded 868 students scholarships since 1995, which totals to almost $2.2 million. This year, Boston celebrated the sixteenth year of an endowed scholarship donated by the Rosen Family in memory of Jeffrey Dunipace Rosen and celebrated the third year of the Community Development Scholarship, established in remembrance of Mayor Thomas M. Menino, and a Community Spirit Scholarship in memory of former public servant and City of Boston Scholarship awardee, Dawn Jaffier. "Being a member of the scholarship committee is one of the highlights of my life. Playing a role in helping fund student's education is extremely fulfilling," said Byron Beaman of the Mayor's Scholarship Committee. "Taking part in the ceremony and meeting the families of these students is heartwarming and the appreciation you feel from them makes reading all the applications worth it." This year's scholarship awards strengthen the post-secondary access initiatives that the Mayor has launched or supported over the last year, including Free Community College Tuition, Boston Bridge and ongoing support activities for students through the Success Boston partnership. "This year, with the help of both uAspire and Success Boston, the Mayor's Education Cabinet and the Mayor's Scholarship Committee began redesigning the fund to better meet students' financial needs," said Boston Chief of Education Rahn Dorsey. "In preparation for next year's process, we will continue to work with college access experts and higher education officials to identify ways to that ensure Boston students find affordable ways to reach - and complete - a postsecondary education." 由僑務委員會遴選前來波士頓參加搭僑計畫的5名臺灣青年，8月7日在波士頓僑教中心發表學習成果與心得報告，回顧自8月1日以來為期一週的僑務見習及參訪行程，每位學員分別發表在波士頓僑界所見所聞的心得，也都表示收穫滿滿、獲益良多。

這場成果發表會由波士頓僑教中心主任歐宏偉主持，邀請今年搭僑計畫寄宿媽媽郭競儒和馮文鸞、僑務委員蔣宗壬和梅錫銳，以及協助接待學員的歐主任夫人張豊珠，與僑教中心全體職員參加。歐宏偉表示，僑胞是國家在海外最重要的資產，搭僑計畫的重點就是希望能搭上僑胞的熱情與睿智，讓國內青年學子與海外鄉親建立連結與互動，特別勉勵學員們懷著知足、惜福與感恩的心，以僑胞為師為友，努力充實自己，將來在各領域都能有卓越的發展，一起為國家打拼；此外，歐宏偉也期許來年能有更多的僑界先進，共同支持此一深具意義的臺灣青年海外搭僑計畫。

學員們先以照片及影片回顧一週以來的參與搭僑計畫的過程，非常感謝駐波士頓臺北經文處處長賴銘琪，以及波士頓與羅德島州僑社各界前輩的指導、協助和接待，也特別感謝僑委會規劃辦理這項計畫及僑教中心的細心安排；每位學員都特別強調，透過這一週的見習與參訪，更能認同僑委會的功能與價值，以及僑務工作的重要性，同時更加瞭解海外僑胞鄉親對國家的付出與貢獻。

紅襪隊邀居民8/12上波士頓廣場遙距看球賽

                      (Boston Orange)這個週六下午，你可以在波士頓廣場，悠然席地而坐的欣賞紅襪隊球賽。

波士頓市政府和高地街(Highland Street)基金會，以及紅襪隊合作，舉辦的第四屆”球場之外(Out of the Park)”活動，邀民眾8月12日(週六)下午，兩點半起免費出席，在波士頓廣場(Boston Common)的大銀幕上欣賞紅襪隊和洋基隊(Yankees)對抗。現場將有漫畫家，氣球藝術家，以棒球為主題的遊戲等等適宜家庭的活動，有賣吃的小攤。紅襪隊吉祥物”威利(Wally)”，”泰西(Tessie)”也都會到現場與民同樂。

球賽預計4點開始投出第一球。
