Vivo表演藝術訂 10/11月推出澳洲馬戲團Gravity & Other Myths、加拿大Ballet BC舞團團的波士頓首演

     （Boston Orange編譯）維沃表演藝術（Vivo Performing Arts）將在今年 10 月及 11 月，為波士頓帶來澳洲馬戲團「Gravity & Other Myths」和加拿大溫哥華「Ballet BC」這2家享譽國際舞團的本地首演，展現高難度的肢體極限。

    在這2026–2027 年度秋季舞蹈季中，澳洲當代馬戲團 Gravity & Other Myths將率先於10 月 23 日至 24 日登場，將於波士頓藝術學院劇院（Boston Arts Academy Theater）演出作品《一萬小時》（TEN THOUSAND HOURS）。

    該劇以「歷經萬小時練習始能掌握精髓」的理念為核心，由 9 位特技演員與 1 位打擊樂手合作，透過現場音樂伴奏，帶領觀眾深入了解極限雜技背後經歷的修練與養成過程。

    澳洲馬戲團「Gravity & Other Myths」在波士頓演出期間，還將和尚莫維爾(Somerville)市的Esh「馬戲藝術（Esh Circus Arts）」合作，舉辦一場“身體拋接動作（Toss the Flyer) ”工作坊。

    Ballet BC 將於 11 月 21 日至 22 日在愛默生庫特馬傑斯蒂克劇院（Emerson Cutler Majestic Theatre）亮相。呈獻三首舞碼，包括華勒斯基受艾蜜莉·狄金生詩作啟發的《SWAY》、駐團編舞家 Bobbi Jene Smith 與 Or Schraiber 搭配現場鋼琴演奏的新作《OBSIDIAN》，以及改編自拉威爾名曲的《BOLERO X》。

    Vivo Performing Arts 總裁兼執行長索爾·史坦格拉伯（Thor Steingraber）特別指出，由前荷蘭舞蹈劇院（NDT）名將麥迪·華勒斯基（Medhi Walerski）擔任藝術總監的加拿大 Ballet BC，預計將成為本季區域舞蹈界的一大焦點。

    其中的《BOLERO X》，將有波士頓音樂學院 (Boston Conservatory at Berklee) 的18 名青年舞者加入演出行列，使台上舞者總數達到 40 人。這些舞者宛如蜂巢中的生物般律動，隨著音樂推進與台上人數增加，視覺衝擊力也隨之倍增。Thor Steingraber相信波士頓觀眾會產生極大共鳴。

    Vivo 舞蹈季在2大舞團首演之外，還規劃了豐富的年度跨界節目，包括預定於2027年2月推出的台灣編舞家黃翊與德國工業機器人同台演出《Huang Yi & KUKA》，以及睽違 20 年重返波士頓的 Limón Dance Company。2027年4月，將有艾利美國舞蹈劇場（Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater）的年度巡演出。

    目前各檔期演出門票已正式於官方網站（vivoperformingarts.org）開賣。

    在兩大舞團首演之外，Vivo 舞蹈季也包含多檔跨越四季的精采節目：

• 大眾與社區藝術：9 月 23 日至 27 日於杜威廣場公園舉辦戶外盛會「Let’s Dance Boston」；11 月 21 日與次年 3 月 6 日，則分別於羅克斯伯里社區學院推出佛朗明哥舞劇《PerpetuARTE》及在地編舞家 Jenny Oliver 的《Four Here or To Go》，兩者皆為免費入場的「社區藝術（Neighborhood Arts）」系列。

• 重磅舞團回歸：創立 80 週年的利蒙現代舞團（Limón Dance Company）將於 2027 年 2 月 12 日至 13 日睽違逾 20 年重返波士頓，演出經典《瑪祖卡》及編舞大師阿喀郎·汗（Akram Khan）的全新創作；美國國寶級艾利美國舞蹈劇場（Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater）則將於 2027 年 4 月 30 日至 5 月 2 日進行年度巡演，再次獻上招牌舞作《啟示錄》。

• 跨界科技焦點：2027 年 2 月 25 日至 27 日，Vivo 將與波士頓科學博物館合作，引進台灣編舞家黃翊的代表作《Huang Yi & KUKA》，由黃翊與德國 KUKA 工業機器人同台共舞，展現現代舞與工業科技的精準對話。

BOSTON – September 23, 2026 –  Australia’s contemporary circus company Gravity and Other Myths and Vancouver, British Columbia-based Ballet BC make their Vivo Performing Arts debuts this fall, with shows of jaw-dropping physical agility, endless creativity and – during Ballet BC’s visit – an onstage collaboration with nearly 20 young area dance artists.

OCT 23 & 24 – GRAVITY & OTHER MYTHS – “TEN THOUSAND HOURS”

TEN THOUSAND HOURS explores the long held belief that duration of practice and refinement lead to a mastery of practice – in this case, Gravity & Other Myths’ extraordinary physical feats. Nine acrobats and one musician take audiences behind the scenes of their high-level acrobatics, examining how physical skills are developed, refined and mastered. Live percussion and an energetic musical score accompany the performers as they demonstrate the strength, precision and physical language that define the company’s work.

Performers include Alyssa Moore, Angus McKean, Annalise Moore, Axel Osborne, Chase Levy, Jacob Randell, Josh Strachan, Lachlan Harper, Louis Gift, Shani Stephens. The Gravity creative team comprises Director Lachlan Binns, Associate Director Darcy Grant, Set & Lighting Designer Chris Petredis, Assistant Designer Max Mackenzie, Composers Nick Martyn and Shenzo Gregorio, Costume Designer Olivia Zanchetta, Production Manager Martin Shreiber, and Creative Producer Jascha Boyce.

TEN THOUSAND HOURS will be performed Fri., Oct. 23 at 8 pm and Sat. Oct. 24 at 2 and 8 pm at Boston Arts Academy Theater, 174 Ipswich Street in Boston. Following the Saturday 2 pm performance, Gravity & Other Myths company members will participate in a lively talk about their work hosted by Vivo Performing Arts’ President and Chief Executive Officer Thor Steingraber.

NOV 21 & 22 – BALLET BC – “SWAY” / “OBSIDIAN” / “BOLERO X”

Under Artistic Director Medhi Walerski, a veteran of the legendary Nederlands Dans Theater, Ballet BC’s 22 dancers bring precision and a rare openness to Boston for the first time. Three stunning dances are on the program: Walerski’s showstopping chamber work SWAY; Bobbi Jene Smith and Or Schraiber’s OBSIDIAN; and Shahar Binyamini’s BOLERO X, which will include 18 student dancers from Boston Conservatory onstage. 

Vivo Performing Arts President and CEO Thor Steingraber has enjoyed a long working relationship with Walerski and with Ballet BC, in his previous role as Executive and Artistic Director at the Younes and Soraya Nazarian Center for the Performing Arts (“The Soraya”) in Los Angeles. Steingraber says Ballet BC’s Vivo debut is expected to be a highlight of the regional dance season, and offers insights on the works that comprise the program in Boston.
