波士頓市長馬丁華殊（Martin Walsh）昨（廿八）日宣佈，風雪停車禁令，下午五點後取消，一月廿九日，學校停課。
由於朱諾（Juno）離境後，麻州到處都是殘留的積雪。波市長馬丁華殊呼籲居民協助鏟除人行道上的積雪，以方便所有人通行。
波市府表示，這場冬季暴風雪在波士頓降雪24.6吋，有些地方甚至高達三十一吋。雪量之多，在波士頓市歷史中排名第六，在歷年來的一月份降雪量中，排名第一。
馬丁華殊感謝市民的耐心，在風雪期間和市府工作人員合作。但他強調，要讓全市恢復正常，還有很多工作要做，現在最重要的就是鏟雪。他鼓勵市民清掃人行道，消防栓，下水道，也要幫助鄰居耆英。

MAYOR WALSH ANNOUNCES PARKING BAN WILL END AT 5 P.M., URGES
RESIDENTS TO HELP WITH CLEARING SIDEWALKS
BOSTON - Wednesday, January 28, 2015 - Mayor Martin J. Walsh
announced today that the City of Boston's parking ban will end today,
Wednesday, January 28, at 5 p.m. All resident cars must be moved out of private
lots and garages by 7 p.m.
The Winter Storm that impacted Boston from Monday through
Wednesday was historic. The National Weather Service has reported 24.6 inches
of total snowfall, with measurements in some parts of the City as high as 31
inches. It was the sixth biggest snow storm in Boston’s history, and it’s the
biggest storm on record in the month of January.
“I thank our residents for their patience, support and
cooperation as we dig out from this storm,” said Mayor Walsh. “We are still in
the snow removal and operational recovery phase of this event. There’s a lot of
work left to do, and right now removing snow is an all hands on deck effort
from the City. We continue to need everyone’s caution and cooperation as we
clear our sidewalks and roads to get Boston up and running again.”
The Mayor urged residents to clear sidewalks, fire hydrants and
catch basins, and help elderly and housebound neighbors.
An announcement on if Boston Public Schools will be open on
Thursday will be made Wednesday evening after assessing the Public Works
Department's (PWD) progress in clearing roads and removing large piles of snow,
and how clear sidewalks are.

Safety Reminders and Tips

Do not walk in the street unless for emergency reasons. Plow
drivers have reported close calls with people wearing hats and headphones.

Do not shovel snow into the street. Shoveling snow in the street
creates a safety hazard for emergency vehicles and requires streets to be

Carbon Monoxide poisoning remains a top concern. Remember to
keep exhaust pipes and vents clear of snow. Sitting in a car while idling
can be deadly if the tailpipe is blocked. Do not let children sit in an idling
car while shoveling. Clear any household exhaust pipes of snow. For
example, gas exhaust from heating system or dryer. Call 911 immediately if
you suspect Carbon Monoxide poisoning.

Remember to keep catch basins and fire hydrants clear. A

If you see a person in need of shelter, of it there is an
emergency, please call 911.
