BOSTON – Governor Maura Healey nominated Alison Silber to serve as Associate Justice of the Probate and Family Court, Georgia Petropoulos to serve as an Associate Justice of the District Court and Gregory Bartlett to serve as the Clerk Magistrate for the Southern Berkshire District Court. The three nominees will now be considered by the Governor’s Council for confirmation.   

 

“All three of these attorneys will bring deep legal expertise and sound judgement to the courts, and I am excited to nominate them,” said Governor Maura Healey. “I am confident that they will approach these new roles with integrity and a commitment to fairness for all our residents.”

The Probate and Family Court Department is responsible for family-related and probate matters such as divorce, paternity, child support, custody, adoption, wills, estates, and guardianships. Its mission is to provide fair, equitable, and timely access to justice while assisting and protecting individuals and families. The District Court Department hears a wide range of criminal, civil, housing, juvenile, mental health, and other types of cases. District Court criminal jurisdiction extends to all felonies punishable by a sentence up to five years, and many other specific felonies with greater potential penalties, all misdemeanors, and all violations of city and town ordinances and by-laws. In civil matters, the District Court hears cases in which the damages are not likely to be more than $50,000 and small claims cases up to $7,000. About the Nominees: 

 

Alison Silber is a domestic relations litigator, conciliator, and mediator. After clerking for the domestic relations calendar at the Superior Court of the District of Columbia, Attorney Silber opened her private family law practice in 2011 and in 2014 moved it to Western Massachusetts, where she has focused on all aspects of domestic relations law including divorce, post-divorce modification, contempt, adoption, assisted reproductive technology, child custody, and child support matters. She regularly represents children as Guardian/Next Friend and through the Children’s Law Project and is one of the founding mediators of the Family Resolutions Specialty Court. She holds a Bachelor of the Arts from the University of Pennsylvania, cum laude, and a Juris Doctor from the University of Maryland Carey School of Law.   

 

Georgia Petropoulos is a highly experienced trial lawyer who has tried hundreds of cases to conclusion across the Juvenile, District, and Superior Courts. For the past 23 years, she has run a solo practice focused on criminal defense and related civil matters. She has defended clients through the Pilgrim Bar Advocate Program, tried jury and bench trials, and represented clients at bail detention hearings and probation surrenders. Prior to opening her practice, Attorney Petropoulos served as an Assistant District Attorney in the Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office where she prosecuted a wide range of misdemeanors and felonies in the District and Superior Courts. She holds a Bachelor of Arts from Suffolk University and a Juris Doctor from the University of Massachusetts Law School.  

Gregory Bartlett has served as the First Assistant Clerk Magistrate in the Northern Berkshire District court since 2012. In this capacity, he is responsible for assisting in the management of the Court’s daily operations, presiding over small claims matters and show cause hearings, conducting administrative and motor vehicle appeals, and reviewing search warrants and arrest reports.  Prior to joining the Clerk’s Office, he served as an Assistant District Attorney in the Berkshire County District Attorney’s Office, where he prosecuted a wide range of cases in the Berkshire District Courts. Before entering public service, he was an Associate at Hochberg Law Offices where his practice focused on domestic relations law, personal injury cases, and estate planning. Born and raised in Berkshire County, Bartlett spent ten years between college and law school working in residential homes for adolescents and serving as a Child Protective Social Worker for the Department of Children and Families. He holds a Bachelor of Arts from St. Lawrence University and a Juris Doctor from Western New England University School of Law. Bartlett resides in Pittsfield with his wife, Christine, and their cats Morty and Fred.

 PROTECT Act Creates New Accountability for Federal Agents 

and Keeps Local Police Out of Civil Immigration Enforcement 

 

(BOSTON—5/7/2026) The Massachusetts Senate this morning took up sweeping legislation to protect residents from the Trump administration’s weaponization of federal immigration enforcement. 

 

To protect immigrants in Massachusetts, the legislation holds federal immigration agents legally accountable for civil rights violations, bars local and state police from participating in civil federal immigration enforcement, and prohibits immigration arrests at courthouses, houses of worship, schools, hospitals, and childcare facilities. 

 

The Senate’s PROTECT Act delivers targeted protections for those most at risk: young children, crime victims, legal residents with complex immigration statuses, and public employees subjected to federal intimidation.  

 

It also makes clear that none of its provisions limit local law enforcement’s ability to investigate and prosecute a crime. 

 

“Today, the Massachusetts Senate is taking action to protect immigrant families, defend constitutional rights, and stand up to the fear and cruelty being fueled by Donald Trump’s weaponization of federal immigration enforcement,” said Senate President Karen E. Spilka (D-Ashland). “Across our Commonwealth, we are seeing children torn from their parents, students pulled off the street, and families living in fear—and we refuse to accept that as normal in Massachusetts. I applaud Senate Steering and Policy Chair Cindy Friedman for her leadership, and each member of the Massachusetts Black and Latino Caucus for their unparalleled work on this legislation.”

 

“The PROTECT Act is comprehensive legislation that defends the values enshrined in the Massachusetts Constitution, particularly equal protection under the law for all,” said Senator Cindy F. Friedman (D-Arlington), Chair of the Senate Committee on Steering and Policy. “This bill will increase protections for our residents, spells out plainly and clearly that Massachusetts law enforcement officers are not responsible for aiding civil immigration enforcement, and importantly, stands up for our immigrant community in the face of an adversarial federal government. “My parents came to Lawrence with very little and gave everything they had to this community. That same story is being lived by immigrant families across our Gateway Cities today. They are our neighbors, our teachers, our health care workers, our small business owners. The people who keep Massachusetts moving,” said Senator Pavel M. Payano (D-Lawrence), a member of the Senate Committee on Steering and Policy and the Black and Latino Legislative Caucus. “The PROTECT Act makes clear that no matter what happens in Washington, Massachusetts will not allow our institutions or our communities to be weaponized against the people who helped build them. Today we made clear whose side we are on. The bill builds on proposals offered by the Governor, the Black and Latino Legislative Caucus, and the House of Representatives, as the Legislature and the Executive Branch recognize the gravity and urgency of these issues and work together to address them in a timely and coordinated way. 

 

The Senate opened debate on the major legislation—S.3072, An Act promoting rule of law, oversight, trust and equal constitutional treatment—at a formal session today and began considering the 76 proposed amendments to the bill.

Almost 300 Massachusetts Healthcare workers urge MA State Senate to pass bill to protecting immigrants, hospitals and healthcare workers caring for them

BOSTON, MA— As the Massachusetts State Senate plans to consider S.3072, the Senate version of the popular Massachusetts House Bill, known as the PROTECT Act, nearly 300 Massachusetts healthcare workers have signed a letter to Massachusetts State Senators, urging them to pass the Senate version of the popular bill. The Massachusetts Senate is scheduled to vote on the bill Thursday, May 7. The letter was delivered to Massachusetts State Senators yesterday afternoon. 

Physicians with the Health and Law Immigrant Solidarity Network (HLISN), authored the letter, urging the senators to pass the bill, and to include proposed amendments 12, 13, 15, 30, 51, which add additional protections for hospitals and healthcare workers. 

“We are hearing from healthcare workers across the Commonwealth that they can no longer do their jobs,” said Dr. Lara Jirmanus, family physician and HLISN founder. “Our patients have been afraid to show up for visits. Some of them are afraid to leave the house, send kids to school or even buy groceries. We can’t take care of patients who are too afraid to show up.” 

“Hundreds of clinicians have attested that patients have been cancelling or not keeping appointments due to fear of encountering ICE in our clinics and hospitals…” the letter said. “Currently, limited guidance and protections for health care workers who take action to support their immigrant patients’ rights leads to confusion, stress, and can worsen burnout amongst an already overstretched and challenged health care workforce.”

In particular, advocates were concerned about the looming threat of ICE entering healthcare settings, alleged ICE violence against emergency response workers, as has been seen in Oregon, Minnesota, Maine and other states, and the lack of protections for healthcare workers taking care of patients in ICE custody. 

“Hard working resident doctors have been disciplined for doing their jobs, trying to make sure that all patients get high quality care that respects their humanity, autonomy and Constitutional right,” said Dr. Brett Lewis, Regional Vice President the Committee on Interns and Residents, the largest physician union in the U.S. “S3072 and amendments 12 and 13 go a long way to protect hospitals and health systems as we do our best to give everyone the care they deserve.”

Amendment 12 enumerates the rights of hospital patients in ICE custody. Clinicians from many of Massachusetts top hospitals have attested to witnessing multiple rights violations, including immigration enforcement officers denying patients the right to communicate confidentially with their physicians, and to speak with an attorney. Amendment 13 provides protections against retaliation for healthcare workers and Amendment 15 requires public reporting of healthcare provider compliance with the legislation. 

The healthcare industry continues to face substantial financial challenges due to the pandemic healthcare worker shortage, and increasing costs for labor, drugs, and supplies. In this context, ideologically-motivated attacks against immigrants and Medicaid cuts threaten the stability of an already precarious healthcare economy. 

“In Massachusetts, one in five healthcare workers are immigrants,” said Dr. Jim Recht, letter signatory and HLISN member. “Immigrants make our communities and our health systems great. Protecting immigrants protects our immigration workforce and access to healthcare for all residents of the Commonwealth.”

MAYOR WU & B.A.A. ANNOUNCE RECIPIENTS OF THE FASTEST BOSTONIAN AWARDS AT THE 130TH BOSTON MARATHON

BOSTON – Wednesday, May 6, 2026 – Mayor Michelle Wu and the Boston Athletic Association (B.A.A.) today announced the recipients of the Fastest Bostonians Awards, given to four Boston residents with the quickest finish times at the 130th Boston Marathon presented by Bank of America. During a celebration hosted at City Hall, the fastest man in the marathon’s wheelchair division, along with the fastest man, woman, and non-binary runners, received recognition for their outstanding performance.

The awards were presented to: 

• Michael Schmidt, who finished the race in 2:22:32. Schmidt is an East Boston resident who coaches track and field and cross country at Brandeis University.

• Tara Lyons, who finished the race in 2:48:41. Lyons is a North End resident who works full-time in benefit consulting. 

• Danielle Bishop, who finished the race in 3:21:28. Bishop is an Allston resident who works as an Account Specialist for New Balance. 

• Delmace Mayo, a Jamaica Plain resident who competed in the wheelchair division of the marathon and finished in 1:51:11. There were no women from Boston competing in the wheelchair division this year. 

“The Boston Marathon is more than a race—it’s a celebration of our City. The statewide competition invites Massachusetts 8th graders to creatively engage with the Declaration of Independence for the chance to earn scholarships and additional prizes

BOSTON, MA (May 6, 2026) – Governor Maura Healey, First Lady Joanna Lydgate, and Boston Mayor Michelle Wu will serve as honorary judges for the We Declare! Challenge, joining other leaders from government, education, the arts, public service, private sector and science, all united in their commitment to strengthening civic engagement among young people. The statewide video competition invites Massachusetts 8th grade students to bring the Declaration of Independence to life in celebration of the nation’s 250th anniversary.

“The First Lady and I are so excited to be a part of this initiative and to hear the thoughtful, passionate voices of so many students,” said Governor Maura Healey. “Opportunities like this highlight the creativity and insight young people bring to important conversations about our democracy. I look forward to seeing how each participant interprets these ideals and uses their voice to inspire others and help shape the future.”

Two runners up will also receive school, teacher, and classroom awards, and every participating class earns a $100 gift card.

All 8th grade classrooms across the state are encouraged to enter the We Declare! contest. Submissions are due by June 3, 2026.

NORMAL is the latest collaboration between Odenkirk, Kolstad and NOBODY producer Marc Provissiero, starring Odenkirk as an unassuming substitute sheriff with a troubled past who, after moving to a small, sleepy town, responds to a bank robbery and unknowingly uncovers something far more explosive.

For Sheriff Ulysses (Odenkirk), his provisional posting to the quaint Midwestern American town of Normal was meant to be a welcome respite from both his marital woes and recent moral injuries in the line of duty. Lynnfield州警處理交通事故殉職 Healey州長發聲明哀悼

Kevin Trainor現年三十歲，事發時他正在下班回家路上，接獲民眾通報有車輛逆向行駛，立即加入攔截行動，結果在靠近索格斯（Saugus）線的北向車道和一輛逆向行駛的灰色吉普車（Jeep）相撞。

麻州州警總監喬佛里諾布爾（Geoffrey Noble）在新聞發佈會上說明，凌晨兩點州警辦公室接獲多通報案電話，到兩點零三分時，Kevin Trainor和多名警員發現該逆向行駛車輛，接下來的一分鐘，就發生碰撞，把Kevin Trainor困在嚴重損毀的巡邏車內，等救援人員把Kevin Trainor救出來，用救護車送到麻省總醫院（Massachusetts General Hospital）後，他就被宣告死亡了。

Kevin Trainor 2023年畢業於警察學院，加入州警團隊約三年，生前隸屬於Ａ部隊（Troop A）社區行動小組，並擔任負責帶領新人的野戰訓練官（Field Training Officer）。在加入州警前，他還擔任過益士石郡（Essex County）懲教署人員。

州警工會主席布萊恩威廉斯（Brian Williams）指出，Kevin Trainor當時在返家途中，卻仍無私地承擔責任，迅速回應，把自己置於險境以保護公眾安全。

麻州住房聯盟今日成立 反對租金管制 昆士市5/6晚有講座

麻州住房聯盟（CHA）警告道，若租金管制公投通過，將導致物業稅上升、房屋價值縮水，並麻州各地可供使用住宅數量減少等後果。

租金管制公投案已於2025年遞交了88,000 份有效簽名給麻州州務卿，遠超過至少74,574 ，才能交付麻州議會審議的關鍵門檻。

如果麻州議會在今年 5 月底前未能通過該法，支持者將啟動第二輪簽名蒐集，以確保這一公投案得以列入2026 年 11 月的麻州大選選票。

正式名稱為「藉由限制租金漲幅以保護租客之倡議請願（Initiative Petition to Protect Tenants by Limiting Rent Increases）」的法案，核心內容是要實施全州性的租金漲幅限制，並以 2026 年 1 月 31 日之租金額度為基準，制定上限為通貨膨脹率（CPI）或 5%（以較低者為準）的漲幅限制。4 戶以下，有屋主自住的住宅樓宇，以及屋齡 10 年內的新建住宅，享有豁免權。

CHA 聯盟主席尼利·索托（Neily Soto）表示，聯盟憂心租金管制對經濟的深遠影響。他說：「每個人都同意住房成本過高，但這項公投提案並不能真正解決問題。租金管制將在家庭負擔能力最脆弱的時刻，導致物業稅上漲，房屋價值下降」。

塔芙茨大學（Tufts）州政策分析中心（Center for State Policy Analysis）的近期研究顯示，全州性租金管制將導致麻州各市鎮住宅物業價值縮水 6% 至 9%，而且租金管制將萎縮地方稅基，削減地方市鎮的物業稅收入，尤其是城市地區與大學城，跌幅甚至可達 15% 至 20%，將迫使地方政府在調升物業稅或削減教育、公共安全與基礎設施等必要服務之間做出抉擇。

Commonwealth Housing Alliance Launches to Protect Homeowners and Communities from Rising Costs

New statewide effort highlights the danger rent control poses to increase property taxes and lower home values

BOSTON, MA – The Commonwealth Housing Alliance (CHA) today announced its launch as a statewide coalition opposing the proposed 2026 Massachusetts rent control ballot initiative, warning that the measure could lead to higher property taxes, declining home values, and fewer homes for families who need them across the Commonwealth.

The ballot proposal would impose statewide limits on annual rent increases – tying them to inflation or 5%, whichever is lower – and apply those caps broadly across Massachusetts.

“Everyone agrees housing costs are too high, but this ballot proposal isn’t a real solution.” said Neily Soto, Chair of the CHA coalition. “Rent control will raise property taxes and reduce home values at a time when families can least afford it. This proposal may sound simple, but the consequences are not.”

Affordability concerns about the proposal are central to CHA’s mission. Analysts warn that controlling rents reduces property values, shrinking the local tax base and forcing municipalities to make difficult choices: raise property taxes or cut essential services like schools, public safety, and infrastructure.

A recent study by the Center for State Policy Analysis at Tufts found that statewide rent control could shrink residential property values by 6-9% across Massachusetts municipalities. The study notes, ”Every city and town would face substantial property tax losses, but the hit to urban areas and college towns would be especially acute, with projected declines of 15-20 percent.”

The Commonwealth Housing Alliance will engage voters, community leaders, and policymakers in the months ahead to ensure a full understanding of the ballot initiative and its potential impacts.

 (Boston Orange編譯) 麻州州長奚莉（Maura Healey）今（ 4） 日遞交「安全騎行法（Ride Safe Act）」，要統一並強化電動自行車（e-bikes）、輕便摩托車（mopeds）及滑板車（scooters）等微型交通工具（micromobility devices）的全州安全監管框架。

「安全騎行法」旨在加強保護行人及騎車者，解決目前法律模糊導致的交通混亂與安全風險，把「微型交通特別委員會（Special Commission on Micromobility）」的專業建議轉化為正式法律條文。

法案核心內容為建立全美首創的「速度監管框架」，取代傳統以設備類型分類的模式。法案規定，低速電動自行車將比照自行車規則，而高速設備（如輕便摩托車）則要求騎手必須年滿 16 歲，且須承擔註冊、保險及更嚴格的道路行駛限制。

在行政授權方面，該法案賦予機動車註冊處（RMV）新權限，以其RMV在未來出現新興交通科技時，迅速反應，制定法規，而無需等待冗長的立法過程。法案也要求建立系統，更完善的收集事故數據，規定即使交通事故沒有機動車牽涉在內，也須通報，以便更精確評估安全風險並優化基礎設施規劃。

麻州交通部（MassDOT）、公共安全部以及多位地方官員都支持這一法案。北安普敦（Northampton）、昆士市Quincy）等市長，劍橋市（Cambridge）經理均表示，由州政府出面倡議立法，將能整合各城鎮目前法規碎片化的現狀。

(BOSTON—5/4/2026) The Massachusetts Senate today announced the highest local aid proposal in state history, as the Senate Committee on Ways and Means recommended a $1.376 billion investment in the Commonwealth’s 351 cities and towns. 

The Senate Ways and Means Committee proposal includes a $53 million increase in direct, flexible funding that local leaders can use immediately for road repairs, police and fire departments, senior centers, and other vital community needs. 

The increase comes at a critical moment for municipalities across Massachusetts, which have faced years of rising costs, from health insurance and public safety to infrastructure and special education, that have outpaced the revenue tools available to local governments. The proposal will be included in the Committee’s Fiscal Year 2027 (FY27) budget recommendation, which will be fully released on Tuesday. 

“The strength of Massachusetts starts in our cities and towns, and this historic level of local aid reflects our commitment to communities across the Commonwealth,” said Senate President Karen E. Spilka (D-Ashland). “This funding gives local leaders the flexibility to meet rising costs, maintain essential services, and invest in their residents, while prioritizing regional equity so Gateway Cities, rural communities, and suburbs all receive meaningful support. I am grateful to Chair Rodrigues and the Senate Ways and Means Committee for their leadership in delivering for Massachusetts.”

The funding, known as Unrestricted General Government Aid (UGGA), is the Commonwealth’s most flexible form of municipal investment. It allows local leaders to direct resources where their communities need them most, whether that means hiring a firefighter, keeping a library open, fixing a road, or maintaining a senior center. 

The Senate’s FY27 budget takes deliberate steps to distribute the additional funding more equitably among communities statewide, ensuring that cities and towns in every region of Massachusetts, including Gateway Cities, rural communities, and suburbs all receive meaningful relief. 

“Our municipalities need support to manage rising costs without shifting the burden onto residents already facing a steep cost of living,” said Senator Jo Comerford (D-Northampton), Vice Chair of the Senate Committee on Ways and Means. “Unrestricted general government aid is a lifeline for cities and towns—and for the people who call them home. Governor Healey Urges Women to Continue to Seek Care as Supreme Court Temporarily Restores Access to Mifepristone by Mail 

BOSTON – Governor Maura Healey today released the following statement after the U.S. Supreme Court temporarily restored access to the abortion medication mifepristone by mail, after a lower court ruling blocked it late last week. 

“Today’s Supreme Court decision is good news for the millions of women across the United States who rely on mifepristone for abortion and miscarriage management. Women in Massachusetts should continue to seek care in the manner of their choosing, as mifepristone remains safe, legal and accessible – in person and by mail,” said Governor Healey. “But we know this is only temporary. The Supreme Court will soon make their final decision, and it is essential that they and the FDA protect access to mifepristone. President Trump and his extreme, anti-abortion allies will continue to use every lever possible to take away women’s reproductive rights, especially medication abortion. In Massachusetts, we will continue to fight these attacks on every front and protect women’s access to reproductive care. I’m particularly grateful right now for all of the incredible providers across our state who are making sure that patients get the care they need. We will continue to stand with you every step of the way.” 

Governor Healey has taken steps to protect access to reproductive health care, including stockpiling mifepristone, signing one of the most comprehensive Shield Laws in the country, and issuing an Executive Order confirming protections for medication abortion under existing state law. Providers across the state continue to prescribe medication abortion in accordance with state law, and patients can continue to seek care without interruption.

Fernandez Bibeau, who has served as Boston’s Deputy Chief of Urban Design for the Planning Department since 2022, brings over 15 years of experience in the private and public sectors to the position, including a substantial design portfolio to advance equity, sustainability, and resilience through Boston’s built environment. Prior to joining the Wu administration, she practiced landscape architecture and design at Sasaki for over seven years, working on several significant projects, including the Frederick Douglas Memorial in Roxbury and coastal resiliency efforts in Charlestown and East Boston, and led large parks projects across the country, such as the Port of Los Angeles Wilmington Waterfront. She will also be making history as the first Latina to serve as Commissioner of the Boston Parks and Recreation Department, responsible for leading over 300 full-time staff and the stewardship and programming of 2,200 acres of permanently protected open space. 

As Deputy Chief of Open Space, a new leadership position in the City of Boston, Fernandez Bibeau will serve as the primary strategic convener for open space policy, facilitating alignment across City cabinets, departments, and external stakeholders. For years, the City of Boston has invested in improving the maintenance, infrastructure, and programming of its parks. She channeled this work ethic into her studies—earning a degree in Landscape Architecture from Temple University—and into her career and academic scholarship.

Fernandez Bibeau is a proven thinker, collaborator and leader, who works seamlessly with architects, planners, urban designers, ecologists and civil engineers on the design of equitable and sustainable places. She writes and lectures on landscape architecture, urban design, and equity. Her work has been published and nationally recognized through the Urban Land Institute (ULI), American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA), Society for College and University Planning (SCUP), American Institute of Architects (AIA), and the American Planning Association (APA). She has also been awarded the 2019-2020 LAF Fellowship in leadership and innovation, honored with the Emerging Professional Medal in 2020 and named a 30 under 30 Leader for Temple University. 

She resides in West Roxbury and is a proud mother of three, a Boston Public Schools parent, and an avid gardener with her husband, Devin Bibeau.

Dan served as Special Assistant to the President and Deputy Cabinet Secretary at the White House, where he worked closely with the President’s Cabinet to implement legislation rebuilding America’s infrastructure, creating clean energy jobs, investing in education, and lowering prescription drug costs for seniors.

鵝肝醬之爭燒進麻州 布魯克蘭鎮已通過禁令 波士頓掙扎中

(Boston Orange) 由加州禁令引發的「鵝肝醬（Foie gras）」之爭，在紐約上訴法庭於2026年3月12日裁決，支持紐約市有權禁止銷售強行餵食產品後，動物保護團體與高等法院餐廳之間的防衛戰就越演越烈了。

劍橋市的Pammy’s和波士頓市的Asta這2家高端餐廳，因為都曾經向紐約州的 Hudson Valley Farms 採購鵝肝，而且拒絕把鵝肝醬從菜單上移除，成為了「電鋸波士頓（Chainsaw Boston）」，波士頓動物倡議組織（Boston Animal Advocates），以及鴨子聯盟（The Duck Alliance），動物權益體（Animal Activism Collective）等組織，利用強光、噪音與大聲公干擾用餐環境，企圖達成「連鎖停供效應」的抗議對象。

動物權益保護人士指出，抗議是針對餐廳拒絕停供協議後的必要升級，並批評業者宣稱的「人道採購」僅是「人道洗白」。他們也宣稱已獲得 Pammy’s 與 Omni 酒店集團的停供書面承諾，

餐飲業者捍衛烹飪傳統，包括Deuxave 餐廳業主 Brian Piccini 與 Asta 主廚 Alex Crabb 均強調，鵝肝醬在法國料理上有其悠久歷史。主廚應有食材選擇權，並表示其貨源來自紐約 Hudson Valley Farms，該供應商主張飼養過程符合道德。

「鵝肝醬（Foie gras）」之爭最早是加州在 2004 年即通過 SB 1520 法案，禁止透過「強行餵食」生產及銷售鵝肝產品，成為全美首個州級禁令？

東岸立法機構受此鼓舞後，先是麻州布魯克蘭鎮（Brookline）於2025年 5 月27日在鎮民代表會議中，以114票贊成，79票反對，正式通過第20號條款，把禁止銷售鵝肝醬納入通用法（General Bylaws）後，2025年11月1日起，強制執行，向違規業者處以每日 300 美元罰款，接著有紐約市在今年（2026）的 3 月12日裁決，將全面執行其 2019 年通過的銷售禁令。

目前麻州餐飲業者正試圖在波士頓市議會推動「教育替代立法」作法，主張以透明標示代替全面禁止，試圖阻斷這股從紐約延燒過來的禁令風潮。
