第十一屆波士頓市長的聖誕年節半價票11/10起開售

藝術波士頓（ArtsBoston）和波士頓市長馬丁華殊（Martin Walsh），波士頓市府，以及大波士頓會議遊客局合作，為期八週的“2014市長的假日“，昨（十一月十）日起為民眾提供130多場表演活動的半價優待券。

查詢半價票及表演項目詳情，可上網 MayorsHoliday.com ，或到柯普利廣場（Copley Square），芬紐廳市場（Faneuil Hall Marketplace）的票亭（BosTix） 。

波士頓市在前任市長萬寧路（Thomas M. Menino）支持下，十年前開始這“市長的假日”傳統，今年更把廣受民眾喜愛的波士頓芭蕾舞團“胡桃鉗子（The Nutcracker），流行交響樂團的假日聖誕狂歡演奏，韓德爾海頓協會慶祝二百週年的”韓德爾的彌賽亞“，花旗表演藝術中心的爾灣柏林”白聖誕音樂劇“，藍人集團，廣受歡迎的百老匯劇”豐年祭之旅“等等，都以半價帶到民眾面前。

            波士頓市表示，把波士頓內在假日期間最受歡迎的十個藝術演出場地的營業額加起來，一年可以創造八百八十萬元以上的收入，那真正意味著為地方居民創造了工作機會及收入。波士頓市長馬丁華殊表示，何況誰不想在假日，節慶期間，有點浪漫感覺。

            藝術波士頓表示，2014年的“市長的假日”還包括三十多家地方上的餐館提供優待價，例如P.F. Chang’s，天滿647，熔鍋（Melting Pot）等。

            “市長的假日（mayorsholiday.com）”也是2015年第一夜入場鈕扣的獨家網上零售站，一枚十元。

        “市長的假日”活動支持者包括麻州互惠人壽保險公司，麻州文化協會，波士頓環球報，波士頓達康，魔術106.7FM電台，波士頓中央，芬紐廳市場等機構。

查理貝克拜會社區謝選民 有意修法增加人事聘用透明度

候任州長查理貝克（Charlie Baker ) 展開“感謝選民之旅“，昨（九）日一早先到”所有國家的感恩教堂（Grace Church of All Nations）“，再到南波士頓，北端（North End）與選民親切晤談。

即將於十一月十三日慶祝五十八歲生日的查理貝克從當選以來，面對外界探問，都只強調他要挑選適任者，組織一個不分黨派的政府。他在當選以後陸續與媒體晤談時透露，有意推動修改競選獻金法，讓在位者無法得到太多的募款優勢；打算修訂政府聘用條例，要求政府單位在人事聘用上更為透明，公佈每一名申請者持有的證件，以及有沒任何政府官員，議員推薦等。

由於查理貝克的兒子在他競選期間參加學校球賽，摔斷了手，送醫後，醫生開的藥竟是能讓人上癮的Percocet。當談及上任後將推動哪些政策時，查理貝克因此激動表示，有意邀波士頓市長馬丁華殊（Martin Walsh），工會AFL-CIO董事長Steven Tolman等人組織一個聯盟，討論制定上癮政策（addiction policy）。

查理貝克在面對未來州政府的人事問題時，坦言自己有被來自四面八方的推薦“轟炸”之感，但感恩的表示，那都是人們出於好心，想要幫他忙。目前他還沒有做任何決定。

            昨日，感恩教堂牧師開玩笑的說，查理貝克從參選以來，到過該教堂那麼多次，已通過被接受為會員的出席次數條件了。

            查理貝克在致詞時表示，這次參選，他拜訪了很多別人認為他根本拿不到票的地方，但那又怎麼樣，他是為了競選成功，希望接觸到百分之百的所有選民，到底這場選舉的最終目的是要為麻州所有居民服務。

            感恩教堂牧師表示，他認為查理貝克是真正想要做好事的人。

            曾任波士頓市市長的雷夫連（Mayor Raymond Flynn），波士頓市議員查理楊西（Charles Yancey）昨日都到教堂去了。

            查理貝克昨日下午先到南波士頓L街客棧去感謝選民。他鑽到吧台後面，向廿，三十名選民說謝謝，應民眾要求拿起“我投票給查理（I voted for Charlie）“的標語牌，和選民一起合照，親切的和出席民眾閒談。他還特地點名感謝曾競選波士頓市長，現為波士頓不分區市議員的米高法拉提（Michael Flaherty）給他的支持。

            米高法拉提表示，當年查理貝克在州政府工作時，他們在州市合作的活動中有過接觸，建立起了友誼。

            一名出席感謝會的年輕南波士頓居民表示，南波士頓是個很特別的地方，保守派佔多數，儘管大多數居民登記為民主黨，投票時，尤其是選州長這一票，卻一向是投給共和黨，藉以支持州內的黨派平衡。

        他指出，不過，這次選舉，查理貝克在南波士頓的得票率高達60%，比許多人預料的54%左右高許多，查理貝克的感謝是很可以理解的。

            昨日下午，查理貝克還去了北端（North End）的勝利餐廳（Café Vittoria）去感謝選民。

查理貝克今（十）日將和麻州參議員羅森伯（Stanley Rosenberg ），以及麻州眾議會議長狄樂歐（Robert DeLeo）晤談，為政府交接做準備。

波市長否決議員加薪案 議會反對取消居民才可進市府任職規定

波士頓市長馬丁華殊（Martin Walsh）和波士頓市議會之間的蜜月期過完了？波士頓環球報昨（九）日以一篇報導指出，在議員薪資，學校交通車，調整市府員工必需為波市居民的規定等議題，雙方都意見不同。

曾任波士頓市議員，現為歷史學者的狄卡拉（Lawrence DiCara）表示，歷史可以告訴大家，這只是打嗝，還是關係起伏上下的開始。

他以前任市長萬寧路（Tom Menino），雷夫連（Raymond L. Flynn ）為例，指出他們也是起初和議會的關係很好，到年底就不行了。

波士頓市長和市議會之間最近一次攤牌（showdown），是上個月，市長用他的否決權，推翻了波市議會以九票對四票通過了的加薪案。

如果加薪案通過，議員年薪將增加二萬元，調漲到 $107,500。

馬丁華殊和波士頓市議會議員們之間的關係，從今年暑假，他想動用權力讓將近一百名的波市部門首長，閣員，以及市長職工豁免於必須住在波士頓市的規定時，就開始緊張了。

六月份時，波市議會在馬丁華殊政府提出第一份市府預算時，也意見分歧，最後在議員們反對藉著廢除用巴士載送七及八年級學生上學這辦法來縮減開支後，勉強以七票比六票通過。

現在，據說市議員們有可能採取行動， 推翻（override）市長的否決加薪案。

民眾提議讓“台灣之美”長留波士頓

波士頓華僑文教中心邀得五個本地機構合作，十一月七日在中心會址為“台灣之美”水彩畫展舉行揭幕式，掛出四十幅水彩藝術大師陳陽春畫作，展現台灣豐富多樣的文化內涵。

駐波士頓台北經濟文化辦事處處長賴銘琪、副處長陳銘俊，兩名僑務委員陳家驊、馬滌凡，中華表演藝術基金會會長譚嘉陵，新英格蘭大波士頓台灣商會會長許炳煌、麻州牛頓元極舞健身會會長鄭玉春、北美藝術家協會理事黃鏡明 等人都應邀出席。

經文處長賴銘琪在致詞時透露，聽說陳陽春在小學一年級時，就被地方上稱為書法神童，不禁對他十分好奇，上網“谷歌”了一下，居然跳出三萬五千多筆資料，與駐外單位等合作，辦過一百七十多次個人畫展，有至少廿六國人士收藏他的畫作，國立歷史博物館前館長何浩天也曾推許他的畫作值得收藏，還被人封為“外交大使”，不禁十分佩服。

根據僑教中心公佈，網站上張貼的資料，在雲林縣水林鄉出生的陳陽春，小學一年級時就被地方喻為「書法神童」，初中一年級時，在北港朝天宮媽祖廟口店家意外學會水彩畫，開始把中國水墨畫的「留白」與「用黑」技法，用在水彩畫中，別有一格的創出他所謂的「台灣水彩畫風」。過去這些年來，有40多所國內外大學請他講課，8所大學頒給講座教授及榮譽教授頭銜。

僑委會主辦的這場陳陽春“台灣之美”水彩書畫展，從今年5月起就開始在西雅圖，金山灣區、洛杉磯、橙縣、芝加哥、亞特蘭大、休士頓、華府、紐約，波士頓等全美十個僑教中心展出。波士頓是最後一站，將展至十一月廿日止。

當天出席畫展的民眾，聽說陳陽春畫作將在巡迴展覽後，分別放在金山灣區、芝加哥、休士頓及華府等四地的僑教中心長期展出，紛紛建議經文處向僑委會提出撥出部分畫作，留在波士頓做長期展覽。賴銘琪處長和波士頓華僑文教中心主任郭大文都認為很有道理，將向僑委會提出要求。

波士頓華僑文教中心主任郭大文當天還利用機會，說明僑委會已在臉書（facebook）上設立了官方粉絲團，請大家加入僑委會粉絲行列，藉臉書獲取各種訊息。
