摩頓市住宅局董事席位出缺

Malden Housing Authority Board Vacancy

Monday, March 30, 2015
Mayor Gary Christenson is reaching out to Malden residents in an effort to fill a vacancy on the Malden Housing Authority (MHA) Board of Commissioners due to a retirement. The Malden Housing Authority administers a variety of federal and state public and assisted housing programs designed to assist local low income residents, as well as the community's senior and disabled populations. The Board owns, operates and manages 1,400 units of public housing and provides additional housing assistance through 1,000 rental subsidies in privately-owned housing.
The Malden Housing Authority Board is a five (5) member Board with four Mayoral appointments subject to confirmation by the City Council and one appointment by the Governor. Members are appointed to five year terms and the Board typically meets twice a month (on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday) at 5:00 PM at 630 Salem Street.
Commissioners have the public duty to review, monitor and approve budgets and other financial documents to ensure expenditures are in compliance with federal, state and local laws and regulations, and to establish and update policies providing for the transparent governance of the MHA. Commissioners are required to attend workshops, training and seminars to keep up to date on current issues concerning public housing.
