Grant Goes Towards 2015 Future Leader Scholarship Awards

BOSTON, MA - The National Association of Asian American Professionals Boston Chapter (NAAAP Boston) is excited to announce that MassMutual recently awarded $10,000 to NAAAP Boston’s Future Leader Scholarship, a premier annual scholarship for Asian American high school students in the Greater Boston area.

With this fund, NAAAP Boston will be able to give more scholarships to aspiring high school seniors graduating in 2015. Both NAAAP Boston and MassMutual share a mutual goal of developing and fostering the future generation of leaders by providing high school students opportunities to a quality higher education.
“We are so grateful to MassMutual for its generosity and long standing support,” said NAAAP Boston President Eric Lam. “The grant will allow more Asian American high school seniors to fulfill their college dreams and become future leaders in our community.”
“MassMutual has been a long-time sponsor of NAAAP Boston and its goal of developing future leaders, and the Asian Employee Resource Group of MassMutual is excited to be able to help young Asian Americans prepare for their professional careers and secure their financial futures,” said LyLy Salisbury, Chair of Asian ERG at MassMutual.
With the purpose of nurturing leaders in the Asian American community, NAAAP Boston’s Future Leader Scholarship awards outstanding students based on their academic achievements, extracurricular involvement, community service, work experience, financial circumstances and leadership potential. Since the inception of the Future Leader Award in 1987, the NAAAP Boston has given over $150,000 to 80 high school seniors.
