BPS to Host BuildBPS Open House, Providing Boston Community with Interactive Experience

Boston, MA - Friday, October 28, 2016 - This weekend, on Saturday, October 29 and Sunday, October 30, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Bruce Bolling Municipal Building, 2300 Washington Street in Roxbury, Boston Public Schools (BPS) will host the BuildBPS Open House focusing on the district's 10-year educational and facilities master plan. This event will have exhibits, activities, discussions, and more for community members seeking to learn about the long-term educational and facilities vision for the city's public schools.
The main focus of BuildBPS is to bring together exemplary teaching and a world-class system of innovative and welcoming schools. BPS Superintendent Tommy Chang will attend both days of the open house and will be available to take questions from reporters on both Saturday and Sunday at 11:30 a.m. at the grand staircase in the Bolling lobby.
In addition to panels, exhibits, and roundtable discussions, there will be food trucks, chess and math tournaments, interactive exhibits created by Lego Education, kids fitness innovators from Reimagine Play, and digital literacy games presented by the Emerson Engagement Lab. We will provide play areas for all ages, Read Boston will have a reading corner, and teens can meet with Teens in Print and members of the BSAC (Boston Student Advisory Council).
