波士頓名人系列 明年一月邀古巴舞團Malpaso演出3場

            (Boston Orange 編譯) 波士頓名人系列將於 1 月 17 日 (週五) 晚上 8 點和 1 月 18 日(週六) 下午 2 點和 8 點，在愛默生派拉蒙中心的Robert J. Orchard 舞臺上，推出古巴最重要現代舞團，瑪帕索 (Malpaso)舞蹈團的3場回歸演出。 

瑪帕索舞團以融合古巴及全球舞蹈，形成具影響衝擊力而聞名，將推出一個既突顯國際編舞家持續合作，又展示對古巴藝術承諾的項目。 

在波士頓的表演，反映出該舞團致力與國際頂級編舞家合作，培養古巴藝術家人才的努力： 

*Ephrat Asherie創作的「Floor…y Ando! (地板….和Ando)」。

藉由Asherie and Guido Gali所設計的戲服、燈光，生動探索衣索比亞鋼琴家和作曲家 Emahoy Tsegué-Maryam Guèbrou 的音樂，帶領出的風潮。 

*“Why You Follow (為什麼你跟隨) ”由Ronald K. Brown於2013年為Malpaso所創作，配以Zap Mama、Gordheaven 及Juliano，The Allenko Brotherhood和The Heavy Quarterz創作的音樂，流露深情。戲服由Keiko Voltaireg設計，燈光由Clifton Taylor負責。 

*瑪帕索藝術總監Osnel Delgado創作的「跳舞島嶼 (A Dancing Island)」。頌揚古巴傳統，由 Alejandro Falcón、Ted Nash 和 Trío Cubandero 創作音樂的充滿活力作品。戲服和燈光由Guido Gali 和 Manuel Da Silva 負責設計。 

瑪帕索舞蹈團從 2012 年成立以來，已發展成為古巴最具影響力的團體之一，在藝術總監Osnel Delgado、執行主任Fernando Sáez和編舞/舞者Daile Carrazana麾下，有 11 名舞者，吳縫銜接了古巴舞蹈傳統與當代全球風格。 

作為 Joyce 劇場製作的關聯公司，瑪帕索(Malpaso) 曾和 Asherie、Brown、Aszure Barton、Ohad Naharin 和 Sonya Tayeh 等著名編舞家合作，擁護古巴編舞家，首演了Delgado 和 Carrazana所創作，突出古巴豐富文化 內涵的作品。瑪帕索舞團的劇碼包括Ohad Naharin所創作的  Tabula Rasa，以及瑞典編舞家 Mats Ek 的「帶水的女人」等，進一步鞏固了他們作為現代舞創新力量的聲譽。

哈利波特巡迴展展期延至明年4月 展品另增2套戲服

               (Boston Orange 編譯) 「哈利波特:展覽 (Harry Potter: The Exhibition’s)製作單位12月9日宣佈，安排在劍橋市的這展覽，不但展出品新增2套戲服，展期將延至2025年4月27日才結束，還推出包括4張FLEX票，4份錄音導覽，4張紀念海報，只要175元的假日套票。

              展出品中新增的2套戲服，一是在藝廊大廳展出，「哈利波特和混血王子」中，McGonagali教授的戲服，一是在草藥廊展出，「哈利波特和密室」一片中，草藥學生所穿的戲服。

              華納兄弟全球探索主題娛樂公司 (Warner Bros. Discovery Global Themed Entertainment)、想像和現場活動(Imagine and Eventim Live) 主辦的這展覽，是最有深度的「哈利波特」巡迴展，藉由創新科技與設計，精心策畫出「哈利波特和神奇動物 (Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts)」等影片中，許多觀眾喜愛了20多年的經典場景，讓人得到沉浸式體驗。

              入場時每名觀眾各獲發一個展覽腕帶，從挑選一棟霍格華茲(Hogwarts)屋，到魔杖、守護神，遊客可以創造自己獨特的奇蹟時刻，並在互動活動中贏取點數。

              在整個展覽中，參觀者將體驗到從移動肖像大廳到帶有漂浮蠟燭的著名大廳場景，再到探索充滿真實道具和服裝的霍格華茲教室的一切。Hagrid的小屋 和超大椅子，哈利童年的“樓梯下的櫥櫃”，都非常適合拍照。此外，「神奇動物」的護身符，贏得東尼獎的百老匯作品「哈利波特與被詛咒的孩子」中的戲服，也都包括在展覽中，使得《哈利波特：展覽》成為整個哈利波特宇宙最深入的巡迴展覽，非常適合老粉絲和剛開始體驗魔法的人。

              現場還將出售「哈利波特:展覽」獨有的紀念商品，包括衣服、珠寶，可吃的零食，例如巧克力青蛙，罐裝奶油皮幾，以及其他哈利波特體驗中沒有的商品。

              JK羅琳所寫的暢銷小說「哈利波特」，已經衍生出至少8部票房大賣的哈利波特電影，3部史詩級般的神奇動物電影，把引人入勝的動作帶到螢幕上。根據書改編的新HBO電視系列，也正在製作當中。

              這展覽的門票售價，成人票$25，兒童票$19，另加稅及手續費。

波士頓牛奶街31號古典大樓傳將改建成110戶公寓

            (Boston Orange 編譯) 波士頓計畫發展局 (BPDA) 最近收到一份申請書，位於牛頓市的房地產公司，恐龍資本夥伴股份有限公司 (Dinosaur Capital Partners LLC) ，計畫把波士頓城中區的牛奶街 (Milk) 31號改建成有110個單位的公寓。

恐龍資本打算把這棟11層高大樓的上面10層樓，建成40戶套房 (studio)、50戶一睡房，以及20戶2睡房單位的共110戶，租金將在每月2500元至4500元之間。

這10層樓中的大約三分之一，約30,655平方英尺，目前有11個辦公室租戶，其中6家的租約將在未來的18個月內到期。其餘的5個租戶，所付租金比目前的辦公室市場價高出很多。該公司在交給BPDA的文件中表示，將和這些租戶協商，幫他們在金融區類似大樓找到能夠更省錢的空間。

這棟有古典復興風格的大樓，建於1921年，窗戶面對牛奶街、Arch街和Hawley街。地面那層樓目前由美國郵政服務局佔用，而且不是申請者的物業。

據悉，波士頓市迄今共收到18宗把辦公室改建成住宅的發展案，將把大約611,000平方英尺的面積，改建成690個住宅單位。

 Hatchlings Winter Lights

For the second year in a row, this creative activation will provide an experiential destination during the coldest months of the year

December 9, 2024 - Boston, MA The Rose Kennedy Greenway Conservancy is excited to announce that Hatchlings by interdisciplinary design team Studio HHH have returned in November. Hatchlings, which debuted on The Greenway last winter, provide a playful reference to one of Boston’s most iconic landmarks, the Hatch Shell on the Esplanade, while envisioning a brighter and more environmentally sustainable future. 

Selected as the winning design from the Greenway Conservancy’s 2023 Request for Proposals for a Winter Lights Program, Hatchlings was inspired by a whimsical question posed by Studio HHH: What if the Hatch Shell on the Esplanade hatched a cluster of baby “shells” that wandered off down the Charles River Esplanade through The Greenway like adventurous ducklings? 

“We loved studying the intricate Art Deco architecture of the Hatch Shell pavilion,” said Vanessa Till Hooper, founder and creative director at Studio HHH. “Through the process of working to echo its arches and angles, we discovered many layers of thoughtful design and mathematical elegance. It's a perfect structure, and we are delighted by the opportunity to draw new attention to this beautiful and historic Boston landmark.”

Similar to last year’s installation, many of the Hatchlings will be powered either entirely through solar power or through a combination of grid and solar power. “Maintaining consistent solar energy throughout the darkest months of the year was a design challenge we were excited to meet, something that our studio felt was critical to advancing the conversation about sustainability in Boston,” said Teresita Cochran, solar specialist at Studio HHH.

In total, nine Hatchlings dot The Greenway, each featuring vibrant arches in colorful animated lights. The Hatchlings appear in a variety of sizes, with the largest standing at 8.5 feet tall and the smallest at 2.5 feet tall. Throughout the winter months, the pavilions will serve as sites for informal gatherings, photo backdrops, and other activations.

波士頓市將分發1800件玩具 與0-17歲居民分享聖誕歡樂

(Boston Orange 編譯) 波士頓市宣佈，將在12月11日到21日的其中6日，分發1,800件玩具給住在波士頓市公屋 (BHA)，或參加波士頓青少年家庭中心 (BCYF)活動的0到17歲兒童及青少年，助力更多家庭有個更開心的聖誕節。

波士頓市這每年一度，在聖誕節期間徵集、派發玩具的活動，今年擴大舉辦，由市府的社區參與內閣 (Community Engagement Cabinet)和波士頓青年和家庭中心 （BCYF） 、波士頓房屋局 （BHA） 合辦，並得到亞馬遜、玩具基金會、美國州郡及地方政府員工聯盟(AFSCME），以及士頓建築工會的支持。

波士頓市長吳弭 (Michelle Wu)表示，每個小孩子都應該在這節慶假日期間感到歡樂。波士頓是很幸運有機會和那麼的企業及社區組織合作，為市內許多家庭帶來假日氣氛，拿到些有趣的玩具。

              波士頓市平等及包容內閣(Equity and Inclusion Cabinet)將於12月21日在洛士百利的Bruce C. Bolling地方市政大樓舉辦波士頓回饋活動，分發免費玩具。參與支持的組織及機構包括

 MAYOR WU ANNOUNCES EXPANSION OF THE CITY’S ANNUAL TOY DRIVE 

City and community partners to distribute more than 1,800 toys to children and families in Boston 

BOSTON - Monday, December 9, 2024 - Mayor Michelle Wu announced that the City of Boston is expanding its annual toy drive, and will be distributing more than 1,800 toys to children and families in need. This year, the toy drive is led by the City’s Community Engagement Cabinet, Boston Centers for Youth and Families (BCYF), and the Boston Housing Authority (BHA) with support from partners Amazon, The Toy Foundation, American Federation of State, County, and Municipal Employees (AFSCME), and Greater Boston Building Trades Unions. Over the course of six days, Mayor Wu will join City leadership and staff, union partners, community volunteers, and The Toy Foundation to distribute toys to children ages 0-17 living in BHA housing or neighborhoods surrounding BCYF centers.

 

“Every single child deserves to experience the joys of the holiday season,” said Mayor Michelle Wu. “We are blessed to have the opportunity to partner with so many businesses and community organizations to bring the holiday spirit and some fun toys to families across our city.”

“When you give a child a toy, you are giving hope and joy. We’re grateful for our partners within the City of Boston, Amazon, and our toy distribution partner, World Vision, who are helping us place toys into the hands of thousands of children who need them most,” said Pam Mastrota, Executive Director of The Toy Foundation.

"Delivering smiles is at the core of what Amazon strives to do, which is why we are delighted to support the City of Boston's expanded holiday toy drive," said Jerome Smith, Head of Community Engagement for New England at Amazon. The first toy giveaway led by the Community Engagement Cabinet, BCYF, and BHA was held at the Bunker Hill Housing Redevelopment in Charlestown on December 5. Mayor Wu will distribute toys directly to residents in Roslindale on Thursday, December 12 at the BCYF Menino Community Center alongside City staff and partners. The toy giveaways are open to Boston residents who live in Boston Housing Authority sites and in neighborhoods surrounding BCYF centers. 

"It’s wonderful to have so many partners come together to make the holidays a little brighter for BHA families," said Boston Housing Authority Administrator Kenzie Bok. "By delivering toys to children in our communities, we’re not only spreading joy and hope but also creating cherished memories that will last a lifetime."

Bolling Municipal Building. Free toys will be distributed to children in the community. This event is supported by partners Fidelity Investments, Boston Public School Custodians, Artists Initiative for Revolution (AIR), Russell Paulding, Ocean State Job Lot, and TD Garden / Delaware North / Boston Bruins. 

“The holidays can be a beautiful and complex season for many of our residents, and at the City of Boston we are aware of this reality because many of us have lived it, too. That is why we close the season of giving with an event called Boston Gives Back, a day filled with holiday magic, food, and toys,” said Equity and Inclusion Cabinet Chief Mariangely Solis Cervera.

波士頓華埠社區議會7席位同額當選 新科議員只有黃新平

 

           (Boston Orange 周菊子波士頓報導) 波士頓華埠社區議會 (CNC) 的年度改選，12月8日共123人出席投票，7個席位又一年的由參選人同額當選，投票率再創新低。其中唯一的新科議員，香港小食老闆 黃新平 (Henry Wong) ，贏得這次選舉的最高票，79票。

              根據波士頓華埠社區議會印製的2025年選舉選票，7名參選人的參選類別及得票數分別為，機構類一席，在塔芙茨醫療中心任職的曾雪卿 37票；商戶類2席，保險代理業的陳國航39票，做物業管理的余麗媖75票；團體類一席，在州政府任職的阮鴻燦66票；居民類2席，在銀行任職的陳黛嫦72票，社工游誠康 44票；其他類一席，香港小食老闆黃新平78票。

              這7名參選人的任期將於2027年屆滿，其中6人為當選連任，只有黃新平為新科議員。

              波士頓華埠社區議會共有議員21人，每人任期3年，每年改選7名議員。根據該會共同主席雷國輝公佈的2024年度議員名單，任期將於2025年屆滿的有機構類的梅伍銀寬、顏銘，商戶類的阮愛玲、翁偉健，組織類的李洪文、湯偉雄，其他類的湯瑞雲。

              將於2026年任期屆滿的議員為機構類的中華公所主席雷國輝，商戶類的大同藥房及房地產公司負責人周樹昂，團體類在塔芙茨醫療中心任職的黃競雄，居民類在華人醫務中心任職的李有香，中華耆英會白禮頓樓主任梅麗梨，其他類在銀行界工作的李典儒、中華公所物業發展經理鄭欣豪。

                 華埠社區議會是個成立於1980年代，波士頓市政府認可，已有三、四十年歷史的民間社區組織，共有機構，商戶，組織，居民及其他等5個類別的議員共21人，每年改選7人，任期各3年，每年一月改選下一屆議會主席。        

             波士頓市內，早年地方社區組織不多，政府仰賴社區議會等機構蒐集民意，舉凡土地發展，牌照申請，市政府相關單位都要求申請者到社區議會等機構陳情，徵得民意支持後，市政府再進一步審核其他條件。

             隨著時代演進，社區發展，波士頓華埠內的華埠居民會、華埠社區聯盟也漸受波士頓市政府重視，於是曾經一度，凡是在華埠一帶的企業經營，餐飲酒牌，娛樂許可，或是土地發展的蓋樓建屋等，凡是需要申請政府證照者，市政府都會要求申請者先到華埠社區議會、華埠治安委員會、華埠居民會，華埠社區聯盟等組織陳情，做簡報。

             在競爭激烈的年份，例如2013年，波士頓華埠社區議會的選舉，曾出現逾千人出席投票盛況，其他時候，包括2010，2014，2015，2016，2018，2023，2024等至少7個年份，都因缺乏競爭，參選者同額當選，投票率是高或低，全看參選人是否催票。
