波士頓台灣傳統週上昆士小學演出

紐英崙廣東同鄉總會及紐英崙中華總會共同主辦的「2016年北美地區臺灣傳統週」，本年由國內選派「極至體能舞蹈團」，5月26日在波士頓華埠昆士小學演出，計吸引近300名主流人士及僑胞到場觀賞，駐波士頓台北經濟文化辦事處賴處長銘琪、陳副處長銘俊、波士頓僑教中心郭主任大文、紐英崙中華總會陳僑務諮詢委員毓禮、紐英崙廣東同鄉總會雷會長國輝、蔣僑務委員宗壬、紐英崙中華公所陳主席家驊僑務諮詢委員及港澳之友社余會長麗媖等亦應邀出席參加。

今年僑委會遴派之「極至體能舞蹈團」係由藝術總監石吉智率領18名團員組成，訪演主題為「花曲舞影（Dancing Flower）」，以蘊含「花」元素的臺灣傳統民謠，如：六月茉莉、雨夜花、孤戀花、望春風等作為舞蹈主軸，並透過融合傳統服裝秀、布袋戲、歌仔戲、戲劇之巧妙編創及古典、RAP、爵士的多元曲風演繹臺灣族群融合、表現中西文化交流，期藉由「花曲」與「舞影」交融的多元文化展演，透過饒富創意的現代舞蹈展現我優質的民俗文化，並使僑界及主流人士體驗台灣令人驚嘆的文化軟實力並帶動現場氣氛，讓全場觀眾分享當到台灣原住民族文化內涵全場近300名僑胞到場觀賞，對臺灣有更深的認識，深獲現場觀眾好評。（波士頓華僑文教中心提供）

New Public Art Installations Reveal Invisible Poetry When It Rains

Video Courtesy of Mass Poetry BOSTON - Friday, May 27, 2016 - The City of Boston's Office of Arts and Culture in partnership with the Public Art Commission and Mass Poetry recently unveiled "Raining Poetry," a new set of public art installations that can be seen in several locations across the city that reveal invisible poetry on the sidewalk when it rains. "As we've heard through feedback from the Boston Creates process, the people of Boston want to see more public art throughout the city," said Mayor Walsh. "Raining Poetry is a great example of a unique installation that showcases the work of local poets in a way that is engaging and creative, offering passerby's the chance to catch a piece of poetry hidden in plain sight." "We are excited about the Raining Poetry installations that are capturing the attention and sparking interest among all those who pass by," said Julie Burros, Chief of Arts and Culture for the City of Boston. "I thank Mass Poetry for their partnership in bringing this idea to fruition and look forward to exploring additional ways to enrich the lives of Boston's residents and visitors through public art projects." Using a biodegradable water-repellent spray that vanishes once dry, the poems remain invisible until it rains. Once wet, the area around the poem will darken, exposing the poem to all those who pass by. "Mass Poetry strives to bring poetry to the public, and Raining Poetry is a fun, unique way to do that," said Sara Siegel, Program Director at Mass Poetry. "We hope that finding a hidden poem on the sidewalk will brighten a dreary day." To date, the City's Mural Crew has installed four poems at four different locations across the city. The locations include the areas around: Dudley Square Café (Lower Roxbury), The Strand Theater (Uphams Corner, Dorchester), Adams Park (Roslindale) and Hyde Park Public Library (Hyde Park). Boston Poet Laureate Danielle Georges selected the first four poems by poets with ties to Massachusetts. The poems include: [untitled] Gary Duehr (Upham's Corner) Still Here Langston Hughes (Dudley Square) [untitled] The Tracks We Leave (U. of Illinois Press) Barbara Helfgott Hyett (Roslindale) Water The Red Thread Elizabeth McKim (Hyde Park) While the water-repellent spray wears off in six to eight weeks, the Raining Poetry organizers plan to continue the invisible poetry movement throughout Boston, with poems in Spanish, Portuguese and Haitian Creole to reflect the neighborhoods where the poems will reside. 高雄餐旅大學副教授陳正忠和勇氣廚房主廚李建達，5月26日早上帶領龍鳳餐廳廚師們一起辦理晚宴。晚上席開12桌，晚宴菜單龍蝦水果拼盤、脆瓜白肉片、芥菜八爪魚、砂鍋千貝鮑魚雞、乾燒芙蓉燉牛肉、仙露飄香海上鮮、紅蔥鮮筍鴨肉羹、豆豉辣椒燴絲瓜、台式蛋酥米粉炒、竽頭酥拼奶皇包、冰宮翠玉水果盤。

晚宴來賓有駐處處長賴銘琪夫婦、副處長陳銘俊、僑務委員梅錫銳、前僑務委員馬滌凡、麻州眾議員陳德基、麻州助理企業發展長Nam Pham、麻州旅遊、藝術和文化主席Cory Atkins等麻州政要及僑界人士參加。

僑務委員會為配合推動臺灣美食國際化，行銷臺灣美食品牌形象，每年都會安排廚藝老師「臺灣美食廚藝巡迴講座」，以提升海外僑營餐飲業經營實力，5月26日龍鳳餐廳舉行臺灣美食廚藝晚宴，十道菜道道都讓來賓們驚喜，不但色香味俱全，也好調理又不油膩，僑民紛紛爭先恐後要和老師合照，並希望兩位老師明年再來。（僑教中心提供）

27th Anniversary of the Tiananmen Massacre

3 June 2016 (Friday)

Twenty-seven years have passed since the students protested in Tiananmen Square demanding basic rights for the citizens of China.  The movement was ended by a massacre in the dawn of June 4 when troops cleared the square of protesters.  Did you follow the event with the rest of the world as days of protests and the massacre unfolded?  Were you born yet to witness that?  How has the Tiananmen Movement affected you?  What is its place in history?  Let us hear what you think.  Come participate in our panel discussion and memorial on June 3, Friday at the Chinese Consolidated Benevolent Association of New England.  Address: 90 Tyler Street, Boston.  The door will be open at 7 pm for an audio-visual prelude.  The memorial and discussion will formally start at 7:30 pm, and conclude at 9 pm with a candle-light vigil. All are welcomed.

 

After the memorial, we will take a short walk to the Boston Chinatown Tiananmen Memorial Monument to offer flowers.

六四燭光悼念會

廿七年前，北京學生在天安門廣場絕食抗議，向中共政權訴求公民基本權益。後來解放軍開進廣場，以屠殺結束這一場和平運動，當時是六月四日清晨。那時你是否和其他人一樣，緊隨著這個多月的抗議，以及最後的終結？或者你當年還未出世，沒能見證？天安門屠殺對你有甚麽影響？這場運動有甚麽歷史意義？讓大家聽聽你的想法。

請參加六月三日(星期五)的悼念及座談會。地點是紐英崙中華公所，位於波士頓華埠泰勒街九十號。晚上七時影音回顧，七時半悼念及座談會正式開始，九時以燭光哀悼作結。

會後我們將步行幾分鐘，到波士頓唐人街天安門紀念碑獻花。
