9月13日，纽英崙兿術学會中秋联欢晚會在波士頓唐人街龍鳳酒樓隆重舉行。晚宴的主要內容包括三個部分：第一部分是書畫家即席揮毫；第二部分是節目表演，其中包括挑戰100個常見別字測驗，網上流行估字謎；第三部分是無聲拍賣。

華燈初上，萬家溫暖。晚會開始前，龍鳳酒樓裡的一張張巨大的桌子旁，書畫家們或凝神靜氣或奮筆疾書或細細描繪。即席揮毫畫家包括：郭义芳的水彩画；张明煌为来宾画人像素描；梅宇国、林浩宗、谭嘉陵、林卓培将即席挥毫这个意义发挥到极致，共创一幅“报春图”并送给賴銘琪處長。

晚宴開始，有林浩宗會長為我們致歡迎詞，駐波士頓台北經濟文化辦事處處長賴銘琪、副處長陳銘俊和谭嘉陵分別致詞，並送上中秋的祝福。節目的表演有大詩人朱紹昌先拔頭籌，為我們帶來“廣東話”的詩歌朗誦；接著才女Sophia Yee朗誦她的中英文詩歌“八月的月亮”，這首詩並收錄在我們的Program Book裡面；關美儀帶來小提琴表演“秘密花園”、李羽藍二胡表演“空山鳥語”；兩人並中西結合，即場合奏一曲Canon。有朗誦，有音樂，而梅國治為我們帶來風趣的笑話；最後郭雅志嗩吶演奏“大漠長河”並與妻子何濤（二胡）合奏“百鳥朝鳳”將我們的晚會推向高潮。

表演過後是100個常見別字測驗的挑戰，在晚宴開始前，我們就介紹了Program Book裡面有這個挑戰，而晚宴上的男女老少都非常踴躍參加，獲得第一名是我們的表演嘉賓關美儀，第二名是孟淨植，前三名的獎品感謝龍鳳贊助的禮券。無聲拍賣中，感謝捐贈作品和投標的善長仁翁: 譚秀婷分别投得梅國治的摄影作品“荷花图”$300和周文𤋮的画作“花卉图”$100；而梅國治的攝影作品“麥田之春”由梅芬芳$150個喜得；林卓成投得林浩宗的作品“草坪上的小狗”$130；關美玲投得梅芬芳的攝影作品“靜謐海色”$120。無聲拍賣的所得款項將用於經營和壯大紐英崙兿術學會。

特別鳴謝龍崗，梅氏公所，中華耆英會，書法會，北美藝術協會，紐英崙藝術學會攝影班及其攝影朋友的大力支持；感谢樂嚐軒的西饼，關美玲及其朋友捐贈的應節月餅，還有翁月媚女士捐贈的小禮物。

慶中秋，人團圓。聽音樂裊裊，歡聲笑語，紐英崙兿術學會中秋聯歡晚會在一片溫馨和諧的氣氛中完美度過。

Are you active in campus organizations? Do you volunteer in the larger community? Do you want to build leadership skills that will help you make change for our communities? Do you want to be a part of changing the face of government?
As the only program of its kind in the country, the Asian-American Women’s Political Initiative’s (AAWPI’s) State House Fellowship Program provides Asian-American women with an empowering opportunity to combine community activism with state policymaking through a part-time internship at the Massachusetts State House in Boston. The fellowship also includes interactive trainings and issue briefings led by well-known civic leaders and leaders in government. Unique to the program are discussions around Asian-American women identity and issues affecting the Asian-American community and Asian-American women. Trainings and briefings are conducted through an Asian-American community lens, making connections between policymaking and our communities. The 2016 State House Fellows will be AAWPI’s seventh annual cohort. Featured in Boston Magazine, the fellowship seeks to cultivate and mentor the next generation of leaders and advocates in the Asian-American community.
Program Overview
AAWPI State House Fellows are to commit a minimum of 12 hours per week to the program beginning February 1, 2016 through the end of May 2016. The 7th annual State House Fellowship includes the following components:

•   Orientation training weekend on Saturday, January 30th and Sunday, January 31st.
  
•   A 16-week internship placement with a Massachusetts legislator, beginning the week of
  February 1st through May 20th. Duties range from constituent services to helping to analyze the fiscal year budget. Fellows are responsible for making sure that their schedules will permit them to intern at least ten hours within State House office hours (9am-5pm), Monday through Friday at the State House in Boston, MA. A majority of internship hours must be spent interning Monday through Thursday.

•   Biweekly, 2-hour, in-person AAWPI fellowship trainings every other Saturday or Sunday throughout their internship. Dates are as follows: February 13/14, February 27/28, March 12/13, March 26/27, April 9/10, April 30/May 1. Briefing topics include: the legislative and budget process, campaigns 101, press relations, hands-on fundraising, and issues affecting the Asian-American community (including mental health, domestic violence and health disparities).
  
•   A fundraising requirement that will help sustain the pipeline of up-and-coming Asian- American women leaders and next year’s fellowship program. Fellows will receive fundraising training and support to help meet their fundraising goals. This has proven to be a great opportunity for fellows to develop and practice essential professional skills through this process.
  
•   Mentorship matches – with an alumna of the program who will serve as an additional resource to each fellow during the fellowship experience, and with a working professional in the community who share similar career interests as the fellow. Several mentorship matches have resulted in long-lasting relationships past the set fellowship dates and have strengthened the local Asian-American women community.
  
•   A community-based project, designed and implemented by the fellows as a group, that engages and empowers more Asian-American women through advocacy and education. Past fellows and community mentors will provide support and guidance in developing and implementing the project. For example, a past fellowship class partnered with ASPIRE (Asian Sisters Participating in Reaching Excellence) to organize and host a civic engagement workshop for the high school girls in ASPIRE’s Youth Leadership Program.
  Fellows will each receive a $500 stipend. Recipients of federal work-study may be eligible to redeem their work-study award through this fellowship instead of the program stipend. If applicable, please indicate your interest in using your work-study on the cover page of your application. Past fellows have also arranged to receive academic credit through the fellowship. AAWPI will cover the cost of the January training weekend and program materials throughout the fellowship.
  Who Should Apply
  Asian-American women with strong interest in the intersection of policy and community issues and who possess strong written and oral communication skills are encouraged to apply. For those in school, students of all majors are encouraged to apply. Candidates must live or attend school in Massachusetts. Preferred candidates have a history of being active in their communities and intend to work and reside in Massachusetts post-fellowship.

华美青少年表演坊接受新學員報名

華美福利會辦理的“華美青少年表演坊“，即日起接受2015-2016年度學員報名。凡年滿7歲至13歲，有興趣參與演出話劇，能夠在長達9個月期間，每週日花3小時，到泰勒街87號的該會會址（87 Tyler street, Boston, MA），與同儕一起討論故事題材，學寫劇本，設計並佈置道具，以及舞台，服裝，最後上台表演者，均可報名，免費參加。

華美福利會表示，“華美青少年表演坊”是波士頓地區唯一的青少年戲劇培訓項目，有助於青少年學習思考，表達自我，今年已是第四年舉辦，將繼續與“波士頓一公司劇場（Company One Theater of Boston）合作，邀輕少年及大學生擔任指導員。

华美福利会是波士顿地区的一个非盈利机构，现正为7－13岁的移民青少年举办一项名为“华美青少年表演坊”的免费戏剧活动。至今，该项目已踏入第四个年头，每星期日在华埠泰勒街87号（87 Tyler street Boston）举行，每次3小时，每期长达9个月。这是一个让青少年聚在一起，研究讨论故事题材，学写剧本，设计道具、装饰及服饰等，然后在舞台进行表演的活动。该项目由年长的青少年及大学生们进行指导工作，对较年幼的少年作出培育。而Company One Theater of Boston 更是我们的社区合作伙伴。
