CAPAC Members Commemorate the Start of Ramadan

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Members of the Congressional Asian Pacific American Caucus (CAPAC) released the following statements to commemorate the Muslim holy month of Ramadan, which begins at sundown:

Congresswoman Judy Chu (CA-27), CAPAC Chair:

“As Chair of the Congressional Asian Pacific American Caucus, I want to extend my warm wishes to all who are celebrating Ramadan. For millions in the United States and around the world, this holy month is a time for reflection, devotion, spiritual growth and renewal. As we celebrate Ramadan, let us also reflect on the indelible contributions that American Muslims have made to our great nation and renew our commitment to denouncing hateful rhetoric, policies, and actions that seek to divide us. Our nation has always been strengthened by its diversity, and we will continue to stand with the American Muslim community to safeguard the religious freedoms and civil rights of all Americans.
