2027 Bank of America Boston Marathon Official Charity Program Members AnnounceA record total of 215 organizations will participate in the 2027 program
BOSTON (September 15, 2026 at 9:00 a.m. ET) – The Boston Athletic Association (B.A.A.) today announced 215 organizations have been selected for the 2027 Bank of America Boston Marathon Official Charity Program. Organizations will raise funds for worthy causes ahead of the 131st Boston Marathon presented by Bank of America on Monday, April 19, 2027.
The Bank of America Boston Marathon Official Charity Program provides invitational entries into the Boston Marathon to select nonprofit organizations. Comprising almost 10% of the total field size, organizations utilize entries to recruit athletes who pledge to raise funds for various causes.
“The Boston Marathon presented by Bank of America is truly a powerful event when it comes to fundraising, storytelling, and raising awareness for the work of more than 200 nonprofit organizations,” said Jack Fleming, B.A.A. President and CEO. “We look forward to building upon the momentum of the Bank of America Boston Marathon Official Charity Program in 2027, and aim to surpass our record-setting fundraising mark of $57.3 million achieved in 2026. We encourage all athletes –including Boston qualifiers—to support an organization within the Official Charity Program and add meaning to their miles ahead of April’s race.”
In 2026, the Bank of America Boston Marathon Official Charity Program raised a record $57.3 million, surpassing the previous single-year record of $50.4 million set in 2025. The growth represents a 13.7% increase in fundraising year over year. Since the Official Charity Program’s inception in 1989, more than $675 million has been raised surrounding the Boston Marathon.
This marks the first time in race history that more than 200 nonprofit organizations are part of the Bank of America Boston Marathon Official Charity Program, with 22 organizations participating for the first time. The Official Charity Program has expanded its impact significantly over the last three years, from partnering with 160 organizations in 2024 to 215 organizations in 2027.

Again this year, the Boston Athletic Association will field its own fundraising team for the Boston Marathon. Members of the B.A.A. Gives Back Marathon Team will fundraise to help expand the B.A.A.’s youth and community initiatives, bringing the benefits of running and healthy lifestyles to greater Boston. Applications will open for the 2027 B.A.A. Gives Back Marathon Team on Monday, September 14th.
