傳 ICE 又在新貝福市逮補十幾人 麻州長發聲明要求解釋

    (Boston Orange編譯) 麻州州長奚莉（Maura Healey）聽聞美國移民和海關執法局（ICE）9月21日在新貝德福德（New Bedford）逮捕了至少十幾人，發出聲明，要求相關部門給出解釋：

奚莉州長說，「在昨（9月21）日傳出ICE逮捕了至少十幾人後，我們聽到了新貝德福德憂心忡忡家屬及權益倡導者的消息。許多被捕者已在這兒生活多年，並組織了家庭。他們當時在前往該地區的水產加工廠、超市及其他關鍵產業上班的途中。我們聽說有一位父親被捕，家中留有幾個孩子，其中一個是才一個月大的嬰兒；還有一個8歲男孩在學校等候父親來接，卻不知父親已被逮捕」。

    奚莉州長表示，「ICE必須立即提供相關資訊。他們逮捕了誰？逮捕的原因是什麼？麻州政府將繼續為社區和受影響家庭提供支持，但ICE必須對他們的行動做出交代」。

Governor Healey Demands Answers After Mass ICE Arrests in New Bedford

BOSTON – Governor Maura Healey is demanding answers after ICE reportedly arrested a least a dozen individuals in New Bedford yesterday:

“We have been hearing from alarmed family members and advocates in New Bedford after ICE reportedly arrested at least a dozen people yesterday. Many of those arrested have lived here for many years and have families here. They were on their way to work at a fishing plant, supermarket and other key industries for the region. We’ve heard of one father who was arrested and has several children at home, including a one month old baby. We heard about an 8-year-old boy who was waiting for his father to pick him up from school, but he had been arrested. These stories are heartbreaking and their loved one have no answers.

“ICE needs to provide information immediately. Who have they arrested and why? Our administration will continue to provide support to the community and families, but ICE needs to answer for their actions.”
