The story centers on an exhausted Chinese American woman (Michelle Yeoh) who, while trying to finish her taxes, discovers that she must connect with parallel versions of herself to prevent a powerful being from destroying the multiverse. By exploring the shifting landscapes of American monumentality, the film interrogates the link between history and political action in a nation that must confront its past now more urgently than ever.
