Vavvas為獅子會員們講解了“細胞死亡及視網膜疾病的保護”，回答提問，還帶領參觀她的實驗室。。
波士頓華埠獅子會會長謝如鍵表示，他們全都為自己是一名獅子會會員感到非常驕傲。這次參訪，讓他們了解到獅子會捐助的眼睛研究很有成果。
A group of 19 Lions from
Boston Chinatown, Millis, Medway, Boston Host and Weymouth went for a visit to
Mass Eye and Ear on May 19th. Massachusetts
Eye and Ear welcomed the Boston Chinatown Lions Club and District 33K Lions for
an introduction to its vision research programs. Demetrios Vavvas, M.D., Ph.D.,
Associate Professor of Ophthalmology at Harvard Medical School, presented
"Cell Death and Protection in Retinal Diseases" and answered
questions from Lions Club members. Following the lecture, guests were treated
to a tour of Dr. Vavvas' laboratories.
We are all so proud and
appreciate being a Lion. This rewarding visit allowed us to witness how our
contributions to funding eye research came to fruition. ( Provided by Ken Chia)
