慶祝紅襪贏世界杯 波士頓十一月二日遊行



The festivities kick off this afternoon, November 1st, at 5 pm, at the downtown Macy's, with an appearance by Red Sox star Shane Victorino. Victorino will be signing autographs for the first 200 fans who make a minimum purchase of $35. Call 617-357-3000 for more info.      
Tomorrow, Saturday, November 2nd, from approximately 10 am-1 pm, the Red Sox victory parade will roll on 24 Duck Boats through the Back Bay, into Downtown, and then on to the West End before finishing in the Charles River. Here are some key details:

Parade Route: 

  • East down Boylston St. in the Back Bay;  
  • Left (north) onto Tremont St. in Downtown;  
  • Veer left (west) onto Cambridge St. near City Hall Plaza;  
  • Down Cambridge St. before "splashing down" into the Charles River.

Street Closures:

 
All vehicular traffic will be banned along the parade route beginning at 9 am on Saturday and lasting until approx. 1 pm. Fans are strongly encouraged to use public transportation to get to the parade; please visit the MBTA service alerts page or call the information line at 617-222-5000 for all public transportation-related updates.

 
The following streets in Downtown will be closed on both sides, from Tremont St. to Washington St., during the parade:

 

  • Avery St., West St., Temple Pl., Park St. (from Tremont St.-Beacon St.),  
  • Winter St., Hamilton Pl. (from Tremont St.-Orpheum Theatre),  
  • Bromfield St., School St., Beacon St. (from Somerset St.-Tremont St.), Court St.

Special Trash Pick-Up Instructions: 
  • Regular trash pick-up on Avery St., West St., Winter St., Bromfield St., School St., Court St., Summer St., and Washington St. (between Temple Pl. and Bromfield St.) will be impacted by the parade.  
  • If you have trash pick-up scheduled for this Friday evening or for early Saturday morning, please contact your trash-hauling service to see about making alternative arrangements. For safety precautions, please have all of your trash barrels off the street and secured in designated areas. If you need assistance, please call the Downtown Boston BID dispatch line at 617-261-0066.

紅襪隊董事長Larry Lucchino表示,遊行將從芬衛公園(Fenway Park) 開始,延著波約斯頓街(Boylston),經過城中區,遊行到科學博物館‧鴨船(Duck boat)會從那兒駛入查理士河,繞一圈,再回科學博物館。
他說,遊行路線會和2004年時,紅襪隊贏得世界盃時的遊行路線一樣。
紅襪隊在過去九年以來,這是第三次贏得世界盃。
遊行路線的鄰近地帶,將從午夜過後的週六子時開始,暫時不准停車。波市府也打算在早上九點至下午一點之間,封閉一些街道,不讓車輛上街。
十月三十日晚的球賽,顯然讓球迷太過開心,薩福克郡地方檢察官辦公室昨早表示,共有12人因為不守公共秩序,毆打公務人員等被捕。另有一人在奧斯頓撞人後企圖逃逸被捕。另有16人在麻州大學安赫斯特分校附近被捕。那兒約有3000人聚集在學校東南方的住宅區,欣賞比賽。有兩人在麻州大學達特茅斯分校被捕。
